In a bid to crack down on illegal immigration, the U.K. government is blocking access on migrants’ access to bank accounts, home rentals, and their driver’s licenses, among other services.
The country’s immigration minister, Robert Jenrick, is heading a new taskforce to ensure that “only those eligible can work, receive benefits or access to public service,” The Telegraph reports.
“We’re delivering on our promise to increase raids on illegal employers: a new Enforcement Taskforce will ensure only those eligible can work, access public services and benefits,” Jenrick tweeted Sunday.

In another tweet, Jenrick writes, “Rishi Sunak launches crackdown on illegal migrants working black market jobs.”

They’re cracking down on migrant smuggling, by enforcing the laws already on the books.
Last week, Jenrick tweeted, “Last year at least 4,000 migrants attempted to enter the United Kingdom in HGVs. We’re increasing the fine for bringing stowaways into the country from £2k to £10k per migrant. The penalties hadn’t changed for 20 years. We’re restoring deterrence to the system.”

Next comes DEPORTATIONS.
On Jan. 13, Jenrick tweeted, “We are working around the clock to remove illegal Albanian migrants and foreign national offenders. Yesterday I visited an immigration removal centre to witness our weekly removal flights to Albania and thank staff for their critical work to enforce our borders and keep us safe.”
In a video statement, Jenrick said some illegal migrants are gaming the system, and “others are dangerous criminals, who have been convicted of drug offenses…. we’re making communities safer by getting criminals out of the country.”

According to a tweet in December, the U.K. is also deporting some illegal migrants to Rwanda.
“As evil criminal gangs exploit our immigration system on an unprecedented scale, our landmark agreement with Rwanda is more important than ever. This is a significant milestone for our partnership and we intend to press ahead with the policy as soon as possible,” Jenrick tweeted.
