“Creepy porn lawyer” Michael Avenatti is reportedly willing to testify on behalf of former President Donald Trump in his hush money trial.
Speaking to the New York Post from Terminal Island, a minimum-security prison in the Los Angeles area, Avenatti revealed this week that he’s already in touch with Trump’s legal team.
“The defense has contacted me,” he said. “I’d be more than happy to testify. I don’t know that I will be called to testify, but I have been in touch with Trump’s defense for the better part of a year.”

This shocking 180 comes after Avenatti spent years criticizing Trump, calling for his indictment, and, of course, representing Stormy Daniels, the former porn star who Trump had allegedly paid off.
Years later, the “creepy porn lawyer,” as many used to call him, has, it would appear, finally seen the light.
“There’s no question [the trial] is politically motivated because they’re concerned that he may be reelected,” he told the Post. “If the defendant was anyone other than Donald Trump, this case would not have been brought at this time, and for the government to attempt to bring this case and convict him in an effort to prevent tens of millions of people from voting for him, I think it’s just flat out wrong, and atrocious.”
“I’m really bothered by the fact that Trump, in my view, has been targeted. Four cases is just over the top and I think there’s a significant chance that this is going to all backfire and is going to propel him to the White House. Depending on what happens, this could constitute pouring jet fuel on his campaign,” he added.
He wasn’t wrong. Trump’s poll numbers have slid up a few notches every time he’s been indicted.

Continuing his remarks to the Post, he threw his former client Stormy Daniels under the bus, alleging that she’s a grifter who lies for profit.
“Stormy Daniels is going to say whatever she believes is going to assist Stormy Daniels and putting more money in her pocket,” he said. “If Stormy Daniels lips are moving, she’s lying for money.”
Oof.
He added that, thankfully for Trump, she’s poised to be a poor witness against him given her past rhetoric, which includes claims that she could talk to dead people and that she owns a “haunted” doll.
“I don’t know how you can possibly put someone who makes those claims on the witness stand and use them as a star witness in a case against a former president United States who’s running for president,” Avenatti said. “That is just absolutely ludicrous to me.”
Besides predicting that Trump would easily win reelection if the election were held today, the “creepy porn lawyer” also said he saw similarities between the former president’s criminal ordeals and his own.
“I think that we were both targeted by the justice system,” he said. “There’s a lot of people on the left that were very concerned about my potential rise within the Democratic Party and my potential rise in Democratic politics — and the fact that I was not someone that was easily controlled.”
Recall how much the media used to love Avenatti:

Will they still love him now that he’s had a change of heart? And also, is this change of heart even real though? According to Avenatti, it sure is.
“Avenatti insisted he wasn’t fishing for clemency in a potential second Trump term — and his change of heart was not motivated by the former president’s famous susceptibility to flattery,” the Post notes.
“I’m not saying any of this because I’m seeking a pardon,” he said in his own words.
He also claimed that he wouldn’t have been such an anti-Trump critic in times past if he’d known that his then-client, Daniels, was a “serial liar.”
“I wish I would have never met Stormy Daniels,” he said. “I should have left her where I found her.”
Speaking with the Post via phone, Daniels for her part called Avenatti a “lunatic” and “scumbag.”
“I was about to say that I also wish I’d never met him but I’m actually glad because I’m the one that helped convict him so he couldn’t steal from even more unsuspecting clients,” she said.
All this comes weeks after Avenatti said during a phone interview with MSNBC that he believes Trump can’t possibly get a “fair trial” in New York City.
