Controversial radio host Howard Stern made headlines last week when he sat down for a friendly interview with President Joe Biden.
According to Outkick contributor Bobby Burack, the “bootlicking” exchange was set up by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Stern hails Biden as being “the father of the country”
In an article published on Thursday, Burack started off by recounting the warm words of praise that Stern had lavished on Biden.
“I want to thank you for your compassion. We’re lucky to have you in the Oval Office and serving as the father of the country,” Stern told Biden.

The shock jock added that he wished to thank the president “for providing a calming influence and an organized administration post-Covid.”
Executive producer says Clinton was “super helpful” in setting up interview
Burack then noted that during a subsequent recap, the show’s executive producer Gary Dell’Abate thanked Biden and his team along with Clinton for helping to set the interview up.
“Believe me, there were a lot of people who were involved in helping this booking from people inferred on all that stuff — but you know who was super helpful on this? Really, really helpful. Hillary Clinton,” Dell’Abate gushed.
Burack further recalled how there is “history between Stern and Hillary,” something the radio personality referenced when speaking with The Hollywood Reporter in 2019.
Stern explained that he “desperately tried to book Hillary during her presidential campaign” in 2016 and lamented that he was unable to help her defeat President Donald Trump.
He argued that an appearance on his show could have affected the election’s outcome, saying, “There’s a segment of my audience that really gets turned on to people they thought they hated because we tap into their humanity.”
Biden mocked for saying he would be “happy” to debate Trump
Stern’s interview wasn’t just notable due to Clinton’s involvement, as it also featured a moment in which Biden told the host he would be “happy” to debate Trump.
Fox News pointed out that Biden’s words were quickly met with derision from critics, including network host Jeanine Pirro, who mocked the idea in a social media post.
“Biden weakly answers Howard Stern that he will debate Trump, HA!” Pirro wrote before adding a laughing emoji. “Guess his aides couldn’t stop Biden before he answered.”
