Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon blasted Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) after the House passed a funding bill delivering another $61 billion to Ukraine, calling the neo-con senator a “poisonous serpent.”
Graham appeared on Fox News Sunday along with Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and credited former President Donald Trump for the foreign aid bill passing, while criticizing fellow Republican Senator J.D. Vance for opposing the continued funding of Ukraine’s war with Russia.
Taking to the social media platform Gettr, Bannon posted: “Lindsey Graham is a Poisonous Serpent That is Allowed to Get Near President Trump Spreading His Poison by Operatives Who are NOT America First.”

Graham panned a New York Times op-ed penned by Vance, in which the Ohio senator insisted the math doesn’t add up.
“This $60 billion is a fraction of what it would take to turn the tide in Ukraine’s favor,” Vance wrote, adding, “Ukraine needs more soldiers than it can field, even with draconian conscription policies. And it needs more matériel than the United States can provide. This reality must inform any future Ukraine policy, from further congressional aid to the diplomatic course set by the president.”
“With all due respect to Senator Vance, he’s wrong,” Graham said. “He’s wrong about the whole concept that we can deal with multiple problems,” Graham said. He added, “This idea that we can’t help Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan at the same time, I reject that. I reject it totally.”
“It’s one thing to talk about Ukraine over here,” he added. “It’s another thing to go. I challenged JD Vance to go to Ukraine and get a briefing from the Ukrainian military and talk to the Ukrainian people. Then tell me what you think.”
At the same time, Graham walked all over his criticism of Vance when he vowed the Ukrainian military will receive new weapons this year, including F-16 fighter jets.
“This is the year of more,” the senator declared. “We have an industrial base that needs to be retooled.”
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
Why is this happening?
Who lets him near President Trump?— ZZZ (@AskMeLaterOn) April 22, 2024
Who forced Trump to praise him at rallies?

I think Trump keeps him around because he would rather have him inside the tent pissing out than outside the tent pissing in

Honestly, what does that say about 45? WE SEE IT, why doesn’t he, or his camp????

Well, that’s just Trump’s superb choices in personnel manifesting themselves again. Prove me wrong.
