It looks like Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk won’t be sending Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) a Christmas card this year.
Not after she voted “No” on an amendment to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) that would have required the FBI to get a warrant before spying on American citizens.
According to Kirk, with that unconstitutional vote, Stefanik “ended” her chance of becoming former President Donald Trump’s running mate.
“Elise Stefanik you have ended your running to be Donald Trump’s vice president,” Kirk stated on Friday’s edition of “The Charlie Kirk Show.”
“We will now actively oppose you to be Trump’s VP,” the host vowed. “Nice person. You just ended your VP political career. All that ambition for nothing.”

As BizPac Review reported, “19 House Republicans dealt a blow to Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) on Wednesday when they voted with Democrats and blocked a bill to reauthorize Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) — a provision that sunsets every five years.”
The vote was on “a resolution that would have allowed FISA, as well as 6 amendments to it, including a warrant requirement amendment, and three other pieces of legislation to come to the floor,” Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) explained.
“Many of us who are adamantly opposed to warrantless surveillance voted for the resolution, wanting to get a recorded vote on warrants, and recognizing the Speaker can otherwise suspend the rules and bring anything to the floor without a resolution, like he did with the omnibus,” he said.
Many people have been misled today.
There was not a vote on the FISA bill.

“Shared concerns that the amendment would seriously undermine the value of surveillance authorities granted in Section 702, the Biden administration and Republican national security hawks launched a last-ditch lobbying campaign to defeat it,” CNN reports.
On Friday, the warrant amendment came down to a tie vote. Speaker Johnson tanked it.
“This is how the Constitution dies,” Massie wrote on X. “By a tie vote, the amendment to require a warrant to spy on Americans goes down in flames.”
“This is a sad day for America,” he said. “The Speaker doesn’t always vote in the House, but he was the tie breaker today. He voted against warrants.”

Stefanik was among the 86 Republicans who, like the GOP leader, voted against the amendment before voting to reauthorize an amended version of FISA.
“The new version of the FISA bill would be a two-year reauthorization instead of five years, meaning that if former President Donald Trump won the presidential election this year, the legislation would be up in time for Trump to overhaul FISA laws next time around,” CNN reports. “That change helped appease the conservative House members who originally opposed the bill, sinking it Wednesday.”
On X, voters who recognize that the Fourth Amendment is included in that pesky document U.S. lawmakers “solemnly swear” to “support and defend” are understandably miffed.
Every single Republican that voted for this needs to be ousted!!
