After getting repeatedly snubbed by the Biden administration, Tesla CEO 'Iron Man' Elon Musk has made it clear he no longer supports Democrats.
In his latest sharp comments, Musk said that Biden and the Democratic party are beholden to Big Labor to an “insane” degree, Fox Business reported.
Musk blasts Biden’s “insane” deference to unions
Biden has made pushing electric vehicles a big piece of his climate agenda, but he has routinely ignored Tesla because the company is not unionized — despite the fact that the company is the largest manufacturer of electric vehicles in the United States and the world.
Musk was stung especially when Biden did not invite Tesla to a White House summit on electric cars last summer.
Biden even praised Detroit-based GM as a leader in the electric car “revolution” despite the company delivering just 26 electric cars that quarter, praise Musk derided as “next-level insanity” in an interview with Tesla Owners Silicon Valley club.
Most Americans do not understand the “insane” sway that unions like United Auto Workers have over Biden and the Democrats, Musk said.
“They have so much power over the White House that they can exclude Tesla from an EV summit — insane.”
Musk turns on the Dems
Musk has called Biden a “damp sock puppet” while complaining that Biden’s administration has done everything to “sideline and ignore” Tesla. Biden has snapped back in kind, sarcastically wishing Musk, who also owns SpaceX, luck on his “trip to the moon.”
Earlier this year Musk challenged UAW to unionize Tesla, saying the company’s employees are treated well enough that the effort would fail.
“Our real challenge is Bay Area has negative unemployment, so if we don’t treat and compensate our (awesome) people well, they have many other offers and will just leave!” Musk said at the time.
Musk has openly identified as a Republican since launching a bid to take control of Twitter in April and end censorship on the platform.
The billionaire has said that the Democratic party has been “hijacked” by extremists and that he may vote for Florida’s Republican governor Ron DeSantis, one of Biden’s top political rivals, if 'True Conservative' DeSantis runs for president in 2024.
