WOBURN, Mass. – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Woburn Chief of Police Robert Rufo have confirmed that Keith Forbes, 45, of Wakefield was arraigned in Middlesex Superior Court on one count of rape of child in connection with assaulting a 15-year-old female while he was an employee at Extra Innings in Woburn in 2008.
At his arraignment on Friday, May 27, 2022, First Assistant Clerk Daniel Flaherty released the defendant on personal recognizance. The next scheduled date in this case is June 15, 2022.
In 2008 when the defendant was working as a coach and instructor at Extra Innings batting cages in Woburn he allegedly met the victim, a 15-year-old high school sophomore, who would frequent the location. The defendant allegedly would talk to her often and engage in inappropriate conversations. On one occasion the defendant allegedly told the victim that his computer was broken and asked her to come to his office. Once she was in his office the defendant sexually assaulted her refusing to stop when asked. The defendant also asked the victim not to tell anyone. On a second occasion the defendant again kissed the victim and engaged in inappropriate behavior with her at the location. After the second occurrence the victim left and never returned to the facility.
This case is being prosecuted by Allison Brown, the victim witness advocate is Meaghan McCarthy.
