Justices Targeted For Protests At Their Homes

For the left, the personal is ALWAYS political, and vice versa. So why not intimidate Supreme Court justices at their personal homes?

While this might not be a true doxxing, because the justices were already public figures, it is still nothing less than an intimidation campaign – one that had to have been at least anticipated by the person who leaked the draft opinion to POLITICO. If something dangerous occurs because the justices’ addresses were made public, can the leaker be held responsible for putting that danger in motion? Because the pro-abortion crowds who have already been out on the streets don’t seem to have a problem with property destruction. I know, you’re all shocked, SHOCKED.

Los Angeles police declared a citywide tactical alert when the protests started getting destructive and violent. Portland and Seattle also had pro-abortion crowds start smashing things – because it turns out that Antifa love nothing more than an excuse to get violent, and even though abortion is not going to be suddenly vanishing from California, or Oregon, or Washington state, the rioting left can never let a crisis go to waste.

Which leads us back around to the group intent on going to the homes of the justices to “protest.”

The activists are organizing under the moniker “Ruth Sent Us” and have published the supposed home addresses of Justices Amy Coney Barrett, John Roberts, Samuel Alito, Brett Kavanaugh, Clarence Thomas and Neil Gorsuch.”

“Our 6-3 extremist Supreme Court routinely issues rulings that hurt women, racial minorities, LGBTQ+ and immigrant rights,” the group’s website reads. “We must rise up to force accountability using a diversity of tactics.”

Fox News is told there has been a strong police presence at the justices’ homes following the leak. The group says they will visit the homes on May 11.”

I hope there is a strong police presence at the homes, especially when one remembers that both Barrett and Kavanaugh have minor children living at home. The Kavanaugh girls, in particular, have already been through hell when activists targeted their home for protests when Justice Kavanaugh was passing through the fires of confirmation and accusation – something they are likely to never forget and not want to repeat.

Something else the activists have forgotten – all the current justices that they wish to target actually worked with Ruth Bader Ginsburg, save for Barrett. Do they really think that Ginsburg, who was quite collegial with her ideological opposites (as can be seen in her lasting friendship with Antonin Scalia) would approve of protesters going to the homes of fellow justices?

Jonathan Turley, while properly concerned about the protests themselves, makes the same point – Ginsburg would not have approved of this. But he also makes a secondary point.

Turley seems confident that the Court will not yield to the mob. I wish the rest of us could feel so certain. The one way to prove that – and circumvent the intimidation factor of these planned protests – is for the justices to simply release their final decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization instead of letting the speculation continue to swirl. Justice Alito’s draft was an absolutely spectacular legal smashing of the convoluted reasoning that allowed the justices in 1973 to artifically construct a “right” to abortion in Roe v. Wade. Let’s see just how much of that draft survived to the final decision. It does the Supreme Court no good to delay releasing the final decision until June at this point. The Court might not want to feel like their hand is being forced, but that ship has sailed with the leak. Having the final decision out there allows the Court to prove that they WON’T be intimidated into changing their minds.

And yes, there are dangerous freaks out there who would love for the justices to be harmed – even as they dress it up as being a “thought experiment” – and Justice Alito has now canceled a public appearance because of potential threats. And this “Ruth Sent Us” group can’t promise that everyone who shows up for their protests will be peaceful and have no ill intentions. Ginsburg would not have wanted her former colleagues targeted in her name. The justices had better have very good police protection, because this type of intimidation truly is a threat to our democratic system.
