A video capturing a startling altercation involving a millionaire investment banker has surfaced, depicting Jonathan Kaye delivering a forceful blow to a woman’s face in Brooklyn.
The incident unfolded on Saturday evening, where Kaye, 52, engaged in a physical confrontation with an unidentified woman.
Kaye is seen in a brief and unsteady clip, notably turning towards the camera after forcefully punching a woman to the ground.
Kaye is then observed leaving the scene, clutching a bag in one hand, his blazer visibly marked with a wet stain.
Spectators at the scene can be heard denouncing Kaye’s actions, labeling him profanely before he abruptly departs.
Accompanying one clip is a caption superimposed on the footage, wherein a user alleges, “This guy punched me in the face today and broke my nose. [He also] busted up my friends[sic] arm… can anyone find him?”
The motive behind the altercation remains unclear and ambiguous, however the internet has thoughts despite the clip only being 12 seconds long.
“As attendees were leaving the Brooklyn Pride Multicultural Festival, Jonathan Kaye, an investment banker at Moelis, broke one woman’s nose and caused two other women to be hospitalized,” Mario Nawfal said.
“He allegedly blindsided the two women before leaving the scene.”
The video footage captures the woman being forcefully knocked to the ground by Kaye’s punch, prompting one bystander to attempt to intervene unsuccessfully.
“Kaye broke one woman’s nose and sent two other women to the ER. He allegedly sucker punched them both and walked away,” Dom Lucre alleged on X.
Juanita Broaddrick quipped, “Would like to see what happened before this. Did women attack him?” adding, “His coat looks wet from maybe something thrown on him.”
Lucre replied, “He said she pushed something. I can’t make out what he said,” after explaining that the 12 second video was the only footage present at the moment.
One user weighed in on the story, stating, “Think he said ‘she threw all this shit over me’ could be wrong – no excuse to floor that woman though.”
“Without seeing the full story it’s extremely hard to judge,” the account admitted, to which another user clarified, “It’s a pride parade, and a ‘woman’ threw some kind of thus-far-unknown liquid on him.”
“The ‘woman’s’ wig flew off as he decked ‘her.’”
Kaye holds the position of Managing Director at Moelis & Company, a prominent investment bank headquartered in Midtown Manhattan.
He resides in a lavish $4 million four-bedroom townhouse in Park Slope, Daily Mail reported.
A spokesperson from the bank confirmed Kaye’s identity to Daily Mail, stating that an investigation into the matter has been initiated.
She acknowledged the involvement of Kaye in the “serious incident” in Brooklyn on June 8.
“We take this matter very seriously and are conducting an investigation,” the spokesperson affirmed.
Kaye’s credentials, as detailed on Moelis’s website, include a B.A. from Tufts University and graduating cum laude from Duke University School of Law.
Further accolades for Kaye highlight his decade-long tenure at Moelis, where he played a pivotal role in the firm’s ascent to a market leader.
Kaye has boasted over 125 executed transactions totaling more than $100 billion in collective enterprise value, per Daily Mail.
He currently oversees ten verticals within Moelis’s Business Services division, managing a dedicated team of bankers and nurturing an extensive network of relationships with both strategic companies and private equity investors.
He also holds a seat on the firm’s Management Committee, underscoring his prominence in the financial landscape, according to his bio.
The millionaire investment banker previously served as Marketing Director at Citigroup, the third-largest banking institution in the US.
Daily Mail states it remains unclear whether the viral incident has been reported to the NYPD at this time.
