The Biden administration is reportedly mulling granting legal status to over a million criminal aliens using executive action.
The administration is hoping to bless 1.1 million criminal aliens who are married to a U.S. citizen but have been denied a green card, according to an exclusive report from The Wall Street Journal.
“Though immigrants can typically qualify for green cards when they marry American citizens, these spouses are barred under immigration law for any number of reasons, most commonly if they entered the country illegally more than once or used forged legal documentation,” the Journal notes.

Despite the aliens’ crimes — ergo why they’re known as criminal aliens — the administration believes the public would be sympathetic to them.
The administration also believes that granting legal status would also help contain any anger from its far-left base when President Joe Biden also uses executive authority to tighten border security.
“There is a growing recognition among Biden’s top political advisers that the president could benefit from taking a positive step on immigration to contrast with his tough talk on the issue, and with an expected executive order aiming to sharply curb illegal crossings at the southern border,” according to the Journal.
“Though the announcement of a program isn’t imminent, officials say, the White House has discussed timing it before the election as a sort of one-two punch following an executive order that would likely upset immigration advocates,” the Journal notes.
Advocates who have spoken with Biden told the Journal they believe he supports the idea and thinks it’d engender an impact similar to former President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that granted work permits and deportation protection to young criminal aliens.
The president is reportedly backed by data showing that Americans are in fact sympathetic to both criminal aliens who are married to a U.S. citizen, and criminal aliens who came to the U.S. at a very young age.
A White House spokesperson for their part said the administration “remains committed to ensuring those who are eligible for relief can receive it quickly and to building an immigration system that is fairer and more humane.”
“As we have said before, the administration is constantly evaluating possible policy options,” the spokesperson added.
Republicans meanwhile are furious over the proposal.
“The Biden administration keeps putting illegal aliens ahead of American citizens, and this decision would be just another flagrant violation of immigration law,” House Judiciary Committee chair Jim Jordan said.
Republican voters are just as furious.

This guy is so desperate for votes.

.@JoeBiden is now pimping out US citizenship for votes.

Unbelievable. All the people who followed the law and wasted tens of thousands of dollars.
Do they get a refund? No.

Has always been the plan. Give illegals the right to vote or make them legal. Instead of being a good president to win votes, he’s instead just trying to game the system…

That’s blatant election interference!!! So a legal immigrant, has to do all the paperwork and study for the test and wait for appointment and he wants to hand it to them???

Why? Why can’t they do it the old fashion way? You know; pay the fees, go through the process, sign the affidavit saying they won’t become a burden (and enforce it), get the vaccinations, etc.

Just to be clear, the administration isn’t talking about granting full amnesty with U.S. citizenship-level privileges but instead, just enough legal status so that the criminal aliens can work and get access to a green card. That said, if all goes well, these criminal aliens will eventually be eligible for citizenship.
“The most popular idea inside the administration is to use an immigration tool known as ‘parole in place,’ similar to the humanitarian parole the administration has used to admit hundreds of thousands of Afghan and Ukrainian refugees, along with migrants at the border who make appointments using a mobile app called CBP One,” the Journal explains.
“Officials favor parole in place because a smaller version of the program already exists for undocumented spouses of military veterans. Granting undocumented spouses parole in place would make many of them immediately eligible for work permits. Perhaps more significantly, it would clear the administrative cobwebs preventing spouses from being granted green cards, meaning the move could ultimately offer them a path to citizenship,” according to the Journal.
