Fans of an iconic rock band were shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of one of the greats of the genre.
According to Daily Caller, Firehouse frontman C.J. Snare, the lead singer and founding member, has died at 64.
The band, under Snare’s guidance, rose to fame in the early 1990s and produced several massive hits, including “When I Look Into Your Eyes,” and “Don’t Treat Me Bad.”
The band announced Snare’s unfortunate death in a social media statement. It noted he passed “unexpectedly” in his home last week.
Statement released
The band’s post paid tribute to Snare’s contributions and hard work in getting the band to the highest levels of success, calling his death a “sad day for rock n roll.”
“Today is a sad day for Rock N Roll. It is with great sorrow we are letting the world know we have lost our brother: CJ Snare, the rock and roll warrior, lead vocalist, and a founding member of Firehouse,” the band wrote in a Facebook post.
The band added, “CJ snare passed unexpectedly at home Friday night, April 5, 2024. He was a young 64 years old.”

“As you are all aware, CJ was expected to be back on stage with the band this summer after recovering from surgery. We are all in complete shock with CJ’s untimely passing,” the statement continued.
“CJ was was arguably one of the best vocal talents of a generation, touring the world with Firehouse non stop the past 34 years.”
Tributes pour in
Given Snare’s status in the genre and his long list of rock hits, members of other bands and fans across the globe flooded social media with tributes to the uniquely talented singer.
“We are saddened to hear of CJ Snare’s passing. He was not just a talent & friend, but also a loved, appreciated & brilliant part of our collective touring past, deepest condolences and sympathy for his loved ones, family, band and fans. Rest in Power in Rock n’ Roll Heaven,” the rock band Warrant wrote on X.
Jeff Scott Soto wrote, “I’m so sad to my friend and fellow singer CJ Snare has passed today, I knew he was dealing with some things as I missed him on the most recent Monsters cruise where Firehouse performed with a substitute singer, love and hugs to his friends, band and family.”
Earlier this year, Snare had expressed optimism about returning to the stage with his iconic band, writing at the time that he was working a full recovery.
