Brigitte Gabriel, a Lebanese-American conservative activist, served up a warning to America about opening the country up to people from around the world who do not share our values, and do not come here to assimilate into our culture.
A survivor of terrorism, Gabriel is the founder of ACT for America and takes considerable heat from the left for her criticism of Islamic extremism.
“I was born in Lebanon, which used to be Paris of the Middle East, the banking capital of the Middle East. I was born into a country that was majority Christian,” Gabriel said during an appearance on the Mel K podcast. “Most people today when they think of Lebanon, they don’t think that this is a country that used to be a majority Christian country in the Middle East.”
“We were a republic just like the United States of America,” she continued. “We elected our representatives, but we imported people into our country back then that did not share our values. Ad when they came to our country and they would say how they wanted to transform the country, how much they hate us, we did not believe them. We refused to read the writing on the wall.”
Referring to her former home as “a hellhole of a country” today, Gabriel noted that it is “completely controlled by a terrorist organization, Hezbollah.”
“That’s what drives me. My 911 happened to me in Lebanon in 1975 when terrorists blew up my home, bringing it down, burying me under the rubble,” she explained. “Wounded, I ended up living in a bomb shelter underground in an eight by 10 room for seven years of my life. From the age of 10 til the age of 17, robbed of my youth, no electricity, no water. We had to crawl under sniper bullets to a nearby spring to get some water — terrible existence, barely trying to survive.”
“So I understand what happens when people turn a blind eye to evil thinking, ‘It’s not gonna happen to me,’” Gabriel continued. “You know, when it was happening to me, I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would be able to come to America one day and live in America and be able to warn people about the problems we are facing.”
She concluded with a call to Americans to “come together” and recognize the threat we face as a result of politicians exploiting weak immigration laws to literally change the face of America in their lust for power.
“So my past is America’s future,” Gabriel said. “Unless America wakes up today and understands that we, the people who love this country, who understand the threat, who get the threat, who understand, we are facing people who want to destroy our country. It is our duty to stand up and come together and do everything we can to make a difference for the country.”
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
And now Paris is the Lebanon of Europe.

Both Lebanon and Paris have fallen.

My father, bless his soul, visited Beirut as part of his European tour in 1969. I recall him saying how beautiful Beirut was and he used the exact same phrase you mention to describe it.
Thanks to the pissfuls, it is all gone.

Exactly what the U.S. and Europe are doing rt now!

What happened to Lebanon should be a warning as to what will happen to the West unless the silent majority speak out. We need fundamental change.

When she was born, Lebanon was the Paris of the Middle East. Today, London is the Beirut of Europe. https://t.co/s9gjGOdDYk
