Things are getting very interesting in Illinois these days.
Trump has offered to help Chicago solve its crime issues, and Dems have refused, with Trump now threatening to send in the Guard.
Rather than accept, they are now pitching wild conspiracy theories, all the while, seven people were killed in the city over the weekend.
No Thanks
Trump has offered help to Chicago before, and his hand was always slapped away.
After Trump tossed around the idea of sending in the National Guard, the governor and mayor of Chicago went nuclear.
Governor Pritzker stated, “If they do, they’ll be in court pretty quickly, because that is illegal. Posse Comitatus does not allow U.S. troops into U.S. cities to do, you know, to fight crime, to be involved in law enforcement. That’s not their job. National Guard troops, any kind of troops on the streets of an American city, don’t belong unless there is an insurrection, unless there is truly an emergency; there is not.”
Mayor Johnson added, “We are standing up to Donald Trump. Are you with me? We’re going to stand we gotta stand firm. We’re gonna stand strong.”
Blood in the Streets
If you are going to deny the help or call the bad orange man names, you’d better do something to stop crime from taking over your streets.
This weekend, Chicago saw seven people dead by Monday, and dozens more injured.
Even so, Johnson stated, “This executive order makes it emphatically clear that this president is not going to come in and deputize our police department.”
Johnson is not listening to his constituents, many of whom are livid that Johnson is sitting on his hands while their neighborhoods are being taken over by thugs. During one town hall, Johnson was smirking at a woman while she complained about crime, and while another person was talking, he started talking to someone else at the table.
Conspiracy Theories
Dems are really good at fearmongering, and they do it because the media never calls them out on it.
To that point, Governor Pritzker stated, “He has other aims, other than fighting crime. The other aims are that he’d like to stop the elections 2026 or, frankly, take control of those elections. He’ll just claim that there’s some problem with an election, and then he’s got troops on the ground that can take control.”
Trump is not going to halt elections, and he does not want to take over these cities. But he does want to rid them of crime. Sending in the Guard without the approval of the governor, however, will create far more problems politically than it will solve. Offer the help, let them refuse, then remind voters that the problem could have been taken care of.
Here is the real issue, however. The media lets Pritzker rant on about this, yet they don’t ask him why he won’t take measures to stop the crime and murders. You tell me what is wrong with this picture.
