Ghislaine Maxwell’s bombshell interview with a Justice Department official has been made public, leading to claims she’s looking out for President Donald Trump in hopes of getting a pardon. During the questioning, the British socialite said she never saw Trump “in any inappropriate setting” with young girls associated with her ex-boyfriend, Jeffrey Epstein, Knewz.com can reveal. “The president was never inappropriate with anybody. In the times that I was with him, he was a gentleman in all respects,” Maxwell — who’s serving a 20-year prison sentence for her role in Epstein’s trafficking operation — told Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, who is one of Trump’s former personal lawyers, during a two-day session at the Florida prison where she was incarcerated at the time.
‘Nothing’ from Trump in Epstein birthday book

Maxwell added that she “actually never saw the president in any type of massage setting,” referring to the code used by prosecutors to describe Epstein’s encounters with the girls and young women she helped procure for him. The socialite also disputed The Wall Street Journal‘s claims that Trump wrote a salacious letter for Epstein’s 50th birthday party in 2003 that she allegedly included in a bound book of notes from his famous pals. “Epstein would talk about his 50th. He said, ‘I don’t know what I’m going to do.’ And I said, well, these are nice things, my mom did this book for my dad. He said, ‘I love that idea,’” Maxwell told Blanche. She also said she had no recollection of Trump submitting a card or letter and was sure there wasn’t anything from the president in the final product. “President Trump, there was nothing from President Trump,” Maxwell told Blanche. Trump sued the WSJ and its owner, Rupert Murdoch, for $10 billion over the report.
Epstein’s death

Maxwell said she does “not believe” the official version of events concerning how her ex died in a New York City jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial on trafficking charges. “If it is indeed murder, I believe it was an internal situation,” she said. While Maxwell didn’t speculate on who might have wanted Epstein gone, she noted getting rid of him would have been an easy task, telling Blanche, “In prison, where I am… they will kill you for $25 worth of commissary.”
Pardon chatter

Some commenters on X speculated that Maxwell was protecting Trump during her interview with Blanche by providing no evidence that could be used against the president and giving a glowing description of his behavior. “Trump was always very cordial and very kind to me. And I just want to say that I find — I — I admire his extraordinary achievement in becoming the president now,” she raved to the deputy AG. “I like him, and I’ve always liked him.” Huffed one commenter, “This is exactly what you would say about the person you are seeking a pardon from.” Added another, “Exactly the kind of thing you’d say to get transferred to a country club,” referring to how Maxwell was quietly transferred out of a federal prison in Tallahassee, Fla., to a minimum-security prison camp in Texas following her sit-down with Blanche. “Sounds like she might be getting out soon,” yet another commenter wrote, speculating about a possible pardon from Trump. A fourth quipped, “That pardon deal is doing work.”
Trump on Maxwell

Following Maxwell’s probing by Blanche, Trump was asked if he had considered pardoning the convicted trafficker. “Well, I’m allowed to give her a pardon, but I — nobody’s approached me with it. Nobody’s asked me about it. It’s in the news about that, that aspect of it, but right now, it would be inappropriate to talk about it,” the president said. Maxwell’s attorney raged in July about how “absurd” it was that his client remained behind bars after the Justice Department said there was no Epstein “client list,” which Maxwell herself confirmed to Blanche. “The recent developments underscore just how absurd it is that Ghislaine is still in prison,” David Oscar Markus fumed. “The government says there’s no Epstein client list, yet Ghislaine Maxwell remains locked up as the scapegoat for ghosts. It’s not right.” Her legal team has since filed a motion with the U.S. Supreme Court claiming Maxwell should have been immune from prosecution due to a 2007 plea agreement Epstein made in a Florida criminal case.
