(Patriot TV)—Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani sustained serious injuries in a motor vehicle accident in New Hampshire late Saturday evening, shortly after stopping to help a woman in distress. The 81-year-old, widely remembered for his steadfast leadership during the aftermath of the September 11 attacks, was transported to a nearby trauma center where he remains under care.
According to an official statement released by Michael Ragusa, head of Giuliani’s security team, the incident unfolded on August 30 when Giuliani was flagged down by a woman who had been the victim of domestic violence. He immediately provided assistance, contacted 911, and stayed at the scene until law enforcement arrived to ensure her safety.
Shortly afterward, while traveling on the highway, Giuliani’s rental vehicle was rear-ended at high speed by another driver. Medical evaluations revealed a fractured thoracic vertebra, along with multiple lacerations, contusions, and additional injuries to his left arm and lower leg. His business partner and medical provider were quickly notified and arrived at the hospital to oversee his treatment.
Ragusa emphasized in a follow-up post that the crash was unrelated to the earlier domestic violence situation and was not a targeted attack. He urged the public to respect Giuliani’s privacy during his recovery and to avoid spreading baseless conspiracy theories.
Despite the severity of the injuries, Giuliani is said to be in “good spirits and recovering tremendously.” Supporters have flooded social media with messages of prayer and encouragement, reflecting the enduring respect many hold for the man often called “America’s Mayor” for his role in guiding the nation through one of its darkest hours.
No further updates on his condition have been made available at this time. Giuliani, who also served as personal attorney to former President Donald Trump, has faced numerous legal and personal challenges in recent years, but his willingness to step in and help a stranger in need underscores the character that defined his public service career.
Authorities have not released details about the other driver involved or any potential charges, and the investigation remains ongoing.
