Quebec is planning on passing a law banning public prayers soon, presumably in response to the regular Islamic street prayers in front of one of Montreal’s most iconic and visited cathedrals.
Those who don’t pay attention are celebrating of course.
But here’s likely how its going to go.
They will ban all public prayer, and never enforce them against Islamic prayers for any number of publicly stated reasons. Safety, racism, what have you. But the real reason will be to put pressure on Christians especially and secondly all other religious gatherings in public that are an obstacle to the Islam and the communist revolution.
When this site first started around 2008, one of the early issues we followed was how Belgium had passed a law against religious clothing and symbols in the civil service. No one working for the government could have conspicuous religious symbols on their person at work.
Although it wasn’t openly stated, everyone knew this was a response to all the Muslim civil servants that all of a sudden had started wearing traditional Islamic garments to work.
The law passed, Predictibly, Muslims sued or otherwise made a huge fuss on the basis that this law discriminated against Muslim people in the civil service. Then, only Muslims could wear religious garb and symbols in the Belgian civil service.
The argument is of course ludicrous. People have a choice. They can work for the government and not wear certain things or they can wear them and not work at the government. We had the same concerns well before this site started when they allowed Sikhs to wear a turban in the RCMP musical ride and in general instead of the RCMP hat. It was about diluting and destroying the traditional symbols and institutions of Canada. Not about reasonable accommodation. A Sikh could still work for the Musical ride. He just couldn’t wear the turban. The choice was his.
Same goes for the Belgian civil service. But the way it worked out was, ONLY Muslims got to wear religious attire and symbols at work. No one else could.
This is how it will play out in Quebec. And again, invoking the anti-Hanlon’s Razor rule, it is not stupidity. It is malice. In fact its thesis, counter-thesis, solution. The state wants the end of Christianity, Judaism and any other system which challenges th supremacy of the state. So they bring in Muslims who behave in dramatically antisocial ways. The state then deploys the most common trick of leftist reasoning, arguing from the wrong level of abstraction, and claims the issue is public prayer when in fact, it is Muslims blocking the streets, and doing rituals of dominance at Catholic or other iconic locations in Canada like Parliament Hill, the Privy Council office, or the War memorial in Toronto.
It’s basically the same as getting really crazy people to shoot a lot of kids and then blaming the guns. As we see this so often, another analogy might be getting Muslims to drive trucks through crowds of people and then getting rid of the trucks. But they will find another way to get rid of trucks of course. They blame Carbon Dioxide to do that.
CBC: Quebec plans to table bill banning prayer in public
Reading the CBC article provides excellent data points as to the thesis of this post. At no point does the CBC or the Quebec government differentiate between an annual Catholic procession through the streets in the manner of any other parade, expected, permitted, and not interfering with anyone else beyond a brief interruption of traffic, if indeed it does that, compared to what the Muslims do, which is a deliberate provocation with constant threats of violence against people filming or taking pictures of them doing a conspicuous set of loud, amplified rituals at an inappropriate place such as in front of a Cathedral, and near constantly, and without any sort of permit.
CAIR Canada, now called NCCM, is already suing over Quebec’s effort to remove special Islamic ‘prayer spaces’ in schools and other buildings not intended for religious practices in 2023. They are gaining ground according to their website. Link below but not hot.

Again, the issue is people blocking the streets. What they are doing in order to block the streets is inconsequential. The ‘prayer’ is a beard for dominance. To accuse people who would stop them, of ‘Islamophobia’ and perhaps even creating the conditions for what Muslims would call, ‘Defending the faith’, thereby justifying jihad. If you interfere with, inhibit or try to stop an Islamic practice, that is in fact a justification for jihad.
Clare Lopez:
Banning prayer will only hurt the civilized in exactly the same way banning guns will only hurt the law abiding and for the same reasons.
