A Florida State University student seen in a viral video attacking a Jewish peer has been suspended from campus, following a call to the university from U.S. Florida Republican Rep. Randy Fine.
The incident, which occurred at an FSU gym and was widely shared on social media, shows a female student allegedly confronting a male student who was wearing an Israel Defense Forces, or IDF T-shirt. The female student is seen screaming “F–k Israel, Free Palestine,” before physically shoving the male student.
Fine, who also serves on the U.S. House Committee on Education and Workforce, took to social media to call for immediate action under a 2019 Florida law he authored.
“Under the Florida law that I authored and passed in 2019, this Muslim terrorist must be immediately expelled,” Fine said on X Thursday and called on FSU to “ensure it is done.”
About 10 minutes later, Fine said the student had been suspended.
