President Donald Trump responded to the comments made by Russian Security Council official Dmitry Medvedev in the aftermath of the recent U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites. Knewz.com has learned that in a public statement, Medvedev accused the U.S. of conducting a failed military operation and warned that such actions might push other nations to help Iran acquire nuclear weapons.
Medvedev’s warning to Trump following Iran strikes

While the Russian Security Council official stated that other countries might help Iran acquire nuclear weapons, he clarified that Russia would not be among them, due to its obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Medvedev stated, “Regarding President Trump’s concerns: I condemn the US strike on Iran — it failed to achieve its objectives. … However, Russia has no intention of supplying nuclear weapons to Iran because, unlike Israel, we are parties to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. I know quite well what this would entail, having overseen our nuclear forces as president.” Medvedev further said, “But other countries might — and that’s what was said. And we definitely shouldn’t be arguing over who has more nukes. All the more so because the New START treaty, which I once signed with a U.S. president, is still in force — for now.”
Trump responds to Russia’s warning

In a social media post, Trump dismissed the suggestion that any government should be discussing nuclear assistance to Iran, calling the remarks reckless. The U.S. president wrote, “Did I hear Former President Medvedev, from Russia, casually throwing around the ‘N word’ (Nuclear!), and saying that he and other Countries would supply Nuclear Warheads to Iran? Did he really say that or, is it just a figment of my imagination? … If he did say that, and, if confirmed, please let me know, IMMEDIATELY. The ‘N word’ should not be treated so casually. I guess that’s why Putin’s ‘THE BOSS.’” President Trump’s remarks came amid mounting international concern over the potential fallout of the U.S. strikes, which targeted key elements of Iran’s nuclear program. According to U.S. officials, the operation aimed to degrade Iran’s ability to develop a nuclear weapon and reduce threats to regional allies.
Iran’s response to U.S. airstrikes

Following the strike, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi issued a pointed response to President Trump, reaffirming Iran’s commitment to defending its sovereignty and resisting foreign interference. The minister said in a statement, “As a people, our basic premise is very simple and straightforward: We know our worth, value our independence and never allow anyone else to decide our destiny.” The foreign minister also took a jab at Trump’s diplomatic approach, referring to the president by a controversial nickname: “The Great and Powerful Iranian People … showed the world that the Israeli regime had NO CHOICE but to RUN to ‘Daddy’ to avoid being flattened by our Missiles.”
Operation Midnight Hammer: Trump’s strike on Iran

In a military operation dubbed “Operation Midnight Hammer,” U.S. forces launched a series of airstrikes aimed at crippling Iran’s key nuclear infrastructure. According to the president, B-2 stealth bombers had successfully “destroyed” critical elements of Tehran’s nuclear ambitions. The strikes followed an intense week of Israeli military action targeting Iranian defense and nuclear assets, signaling a significant escalation in regional tensions. Following the airstrike, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said in a statement, “The Americans must receive a response to their aggression… We have always stated that we are ready to engage and negotiate within the framework of international law, but instead of accepting logic, the other side has demanded the surrender of the Iranian nation.”
