Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) teased a major announcement on her political future to come in the “next couple of days,” as she has been weighing a bid to enter the South Carolina gubernatorial race since the beginning of the summer.
Mace revealed her timeline for the announcement in a Fox News appearance on Sunday, during which she said she “may be forced” to enter the gubernatorial race because South Carolina has “gone woke.”
“I will be making a decision over the next couple of days about my future. I believe I may be forced to run for governor because I can’t watch my beautiful red state of South Carolina go woke. It’s gone woke over the last couple of years,” Mace said when asked about her appearance over the weekend at a GOP fundraising event in New Hampshire.
Mace also cast the election as possibly a “two-man race” between her and Attorney General Alan Wilson, despite the GOP primary getting more crowded over the weekend with fellow Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC) entering the race.
