July 28, 2025 — THE BRONX, New York — A violent stretch of gunfire and bloodshed in the Bronx has left at least two men dead and several others injured following a string of shootings and a stabbing over the weekend and into Monday morning.
Early Monday Morning: Two Men Fatally Shot in Ferry Point Park
Two young men were fatally shot just after 5:30 a.m. Monday in a parking lot on the north side of Ferry Point Park in the Throggs Neck section of the Bronx.
According to police, the victims were struck on Schley Avenue, off Brush Avenue. A 22-year-old man was shot in the shoulder and torso and was pronounced dead at Jacobi Hospital. A 21-year-old man who was shot in the back and abdomen was also transported to Jacobi Hospital, where he later died.
Police say the suspects were wearing masks and fled the scene on a moped. No arrests have been made as of Monday afternoon.
Sunday: Post-Parade Violence in the Wake of Bronx Dominican Day Parade
The double homicide follows a violent Sunday in the borough, where multiple shootings and a stabbing occurred shortly after the conclusion of the Bronx Dominican Day Parade on the Grand Concourse.
The violence erupted around 170th Street, as crowds lingered following the parade. Witnesses reported hearing gunfire, prompting panic and chaos among attendees.
Police say there were at least three separate violent incidents in the area:
A 19-year-old man was stabbed in the hip.
A 24-year-old man was shot in the buttocks.
A 19-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were both shot in the neck and ankle, respectively, at the same location.
A fourth individual was shot in a separate incident elsewhere in the Bronx.
No information has been released yet on the identities of the victims or suspects involved in the Sunday incidents.
