Former National Security Advisor John Bolton has been implicated in the Trump-Russia collusion hoax after new reporting revealed he concealed classified evidence from President Donald Trump.
As RealClear Investigations’ Paul Sperry reported, Bolton received a top-secret memo detailing how ex-CIA Director John Brennan fabricated intelligence to smear Trump.
However, instead of briefing the president, Bolton buried the memo inside a National Security Council safe.
“Bolton stuck it in an NSC safe and never briefed Trump, believing the Brennan intel,” Sperry wrote on X.
According to the report, the memo outlined how Brennan personally approved a scheme linking Trump’s 2016 campaign to the Russian government—despite objections from other CIA officers.
The now-declassified document contradicts years of testimony from Obama-era officials, including Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey.
The memo states that multiple CIA analysts signed off on findings that Russian interference had little to no effect on the 2016 election—and that Moscow actually preferred Hillary Clinton, not Trump.
The Russian government reportedly believed it held damaging information on Clinton that could be used to pressure her administration after she won, as Trending Politics reported.
This directly refutes the central narrative pushed by Democrats and corporate media for nearly a decade.
Bolton, a longtime neocon and vocal Trump critic, immediately lashed out at the memo’s release.
“She’s strung together a series of things that aren’t necessarily related,” Bolton said of Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who declassified the document. “She’s imagined evidence that doesn’t exist.”
In a rant on NewsNation, Bolton accused Gabbard of exaggerating and misleading the public to “save her job.”
But Gabbard’s memo has already sparked legal consequences.
According to sources close to the matter, the FBI has opened a sprawling investigation into Brennan and Comey for giving potentially false testimony to Congress in 2020.
The investigation could mark the first serious legal action taken against the architects of the Trump-Russia narrative.
President Donald Trump responded forcefully on Tuesday, directly blaming former President Barack Obama for orchestrating the hoax.
“It would be President Obama. He started it,” Trump told reporters. “And Biden was there with him. Comey was there. Clapper. Brennan. They were all there in a room.”
Trump said the evidence proves everything.
“They have him stone-cold. It was President Obama,” Trump said. “Not lots of people. It was them. The leader of the gang was Barack Hussein Obama—have you heard of him?”
Trump added: “He’s guilty. It’s not a question. This was treason. This was every word you can think of.”
The memo has added fuel to calls from Republican lawmakers demanding full accountability for those who pushed the Russia hoax.
