A 3-year-old Alabama boy reportedly died on Tuesday after being left in a hot car.
Authorities said Keterrius Sparks was left in a car parked in Birmingham from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. WBRC reported that Sparks was in the care of a worker contracted through the Department of Human Resources.
Birmingham police said the worker is cooperating and has undergone questioning.
Sparks is at least the 16th child to die in a hot car this year. According to No Heat Stroke, 39 children died in hot cars in 2024.
