The knives are out in the Trump administration.
What started as whispers behind closed doors just exploded into the open.
And Ron DeSantis gets thrown into one fight that caught Pam Bondi off-guard.
MAGA influencer Laura Loomer drops bombshell about Bondi’s future
The Trump administration is facing its first major internal crisis as prominent MAGA figures turn their guns on Attorney General Pam Bondi.
Laura Loomer, the controversial Trump insider who’s gained significant influence in recent months, didn’t mince words about Bondi’s performance.
“A lot of people who work for President Trump are pissed with Blondi,” Loomer posted on X. “They know she Fkd up. Now it’s a matter of what happens next. She is an embarrassment to Donald Trump and his administration and we need to protect Trump from people who want to DRAG HIM DOWN. Blondi needs to be fired.”¹
But here’s where things get really interesting.
Loomer revealed that if Bondi gets the axe, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has emerged as the top contender to replace her as Attorney General.
“If Blondi is fired, I’m told @GovRonDeSantis has been considered/floated for the role of Attorney General by some over the last few months,” Loomer wrote.²
That’s got to sting for Bondi, who probably never saw this coming when she took the job.
The Epstein Files controversy that started it all
The firestorm began over Bondi’s handling of the so-called “Epstein Files” investigation.
MAGA loyalists are furious that Bondi hasn’t been more aggressive in pursuing the matter, and they’re not keeping quiet about it anymore.
The controversy has gotten so bad that according to Loomer’s reporting, there are resignations being considered at high levels of law enforcement, which was quickly confirmed by CNN and Axios.³
Think about that for a second.
When you’ve got Trump loyalists in key positions considering walking away because of how the Attorney General is handling things, you know there’s a serious problem.
Loomer made it clear that Trump supporters want an Attorney General who will fight tooth and nail for the President instead of becoming a headache.
And right now, Bondi isn’t delivering on that front.
DeSantis supporters see golden opportunity
For DeSantis allies, this whole mess represents a rare chance to get their guy into a major federal role.
The Florida Governor has been building his conservative credentials for years, and serving as Trump’s Attorney General would put him at the center of the administration’s legal battles.
“There’s also a private push behind the scenes by some GOP donors who want to see @KenPaxtonTX as AG, but he has US Senate aspirations,” Loomer revealed.⁴
That leaves DeSantis as the clear frontrunner if Trump decides to make a change.
DeSantis brings something to the table that Bondi apparently doesn’t – the ability to manage high-profile legal battles without creating embarrassing headlines for the administration.
Trump allies believe DeSantis could bring stability to the Justice Department, given his track record as Florida’s Governor.
Internal divisions threaten to fracture MAGA unity
This isn’t just about one cabinet position.
The Bondi controversy is exposing deeper tensions within the Trump administration about who can be trusted to execute the President’s agenda effectively.
“Many MAGA activists now see Bondi as a liability rather than an asset,” political observers note.
That’s a devastating assessment for someone who’s supposed to be leading the charge on Trump’s legal priorities.
The situation has gotten so bad that top conservative voices are demanding Trump take immediate action to fix the mess.
Some are warning that if Trump doesn’t act soon, staying quiet could split his own movement and hurt his ability to govern effectively.
Loomer’s growing influence in Trump world
What makes this story even more significant is who’s driving it.
Laura Loomer has become one of the most influential voices in Trump’s inner circle, despite her controversial past.
She was reportedly “the driving force behind Trump removing National Security Advisor Mike Waltz in April, among other national security officials she urged him to purge.”⁵
When Loomer talks, Trump listens.
And right now, she’s making it crystal clear that Bondi needs to go.
“She has not done a good job as AG and everyone knows it,” Loomer stated bluntly.
That’s not the kind of public criticism that cabinet members usually survive.
What happens next could reshape the administration
The question now is whether Trump will act on the growing pressure to fire Bondi.
If he does, bringing in DeSantis would send a strong signal that he’s serious about having effective conservative leaders in key positions.
But if Trump sticks with Bondi despite the mounting criticism, it could create even deeper rifts within his own movement.
Analysts are already pointing out that this Bondi mess could tear apart Trump’s coalition if he doesn’t handle it right.
That’s exactly the kind of internal drama that Trump can’t afford if he wants to maintain the unity that helped him win back the White House.
The MAGA movement didn’t fight this hard to put Trump back in office just to watch his own team undermine his agenda from within.
And if the Bondi situation isn’t resolved soon, it could become the kind of distraction that derails Trump’s entire second-term agenda.
Ron DeSantis probably never expected to get dragged into this fight.
But if Bondi keeps stumbling, he might find himself with a job offer he can’t refuse.
