On Thursday, the Senate Finance Committee will hold a hearing with U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. This hearing provides an opportunity for the secretary to update the Senate and the American people on his agency’s promised review of abortion drug safety.
In light of disturbing reports that abortion drugs are fueling abuse nationwide – including cases where health care professionals prescribe them off-label to men who then use them against women’s will and without their knowledge – Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America calls for an immediate update on the review.

Lyndsey Sikes, executive director at Life Choices Pregnancy Resource Center in Monroe, Louisiana, described what she’s seeing on the ground:
“These drugs are being bought online and sold on the streets. Women come to our center after being coerced into taking drugs their partner bought – we see it every day. And every day, we see the complications that follow.”
Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, made the following statement:
“The epidemic of abortion drug abuse gets worse by the day. In Illinois, a mother was left crying in a pool of her own blood after her boyfriend poisoned her with the drugs. In Texas, a mom happily expecting her child was secretly drugged by her ex who obtained a prescription for abortion drugs in his own name after she refused to abort. She ended up in the ER, and her baby, named Joy, did not survive.
“Women and children are being harmed, yet abortion drugs continue to be bought and sold with no commonsense safeguards and no accountability for the corporations and dealers who profit from them. We are thankful that RFK Jr. promised to review the safety of dangerous abortion drugs, and we look forward to an update at this hearing on the investigation, after years of the Biden Administration ignoring this serious issue.”
