Trump’s Tariff Threats are Uniting the World Against the United States

This past weekend, a video clip from the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit held in Tianjin, China, went viral on social media, showing the three heads of state, Putin from Russia, Modi from India, and Xi from China, smiling and joking around with each other, with their translators present.

Here is the clip with commentary from India Today.

The reason why this clip was considered so significant, is because of U.S. President Donald Trump’s new 50% tariff threats against India, for buying oil from Russia.

Trump is seemingly making the whole world enemies of the U.S. by his constant threat of tariffs made against countries who have long been allies of the U.S.

If Donald Trump hoped to bring India to heel, things are not going to plan.

Narendra Modi has not only proved unyielding. He is also giving the US president the silent treatment.

Since Mr Trump singled out India with an unexpectedly draconian double dose of tariffs earlier this month, he has reportedly phoned the Indian prime minister on four occasions to seek a compromise. Each time, the Indian leader refused to pick up.

In the same period, Mr Modi has twice spoken to his “friend” Vladimir Putin and dispatched his foreign minister to Moscow. This weekend, he travels to China for the first time in seven years to attend a security summit hosted by Xi Jinping, the Chinese president, in the north-eastern city of Tianjin.

The two men, long estranged but now bound by circumstance, will hold talks on Sunday. (Full article.)

Meanwhile, back in the U.S. after a long Labor Day weekend, the financial markets were mostly down on the first trading day of September, with a plethora of negative news that was related to Trump’s tariff policies, including a report that manufacturing contracts in the U.S. fell for the sixth month in a row.

Weren’t Trump’s tariffs supposed to increase manufacturing in the U.S.??

With the debt ceiling debate looming later this month and a U.S. Congress as divided as they ever have been, September 2025 could be the month this whole financial system collapses.

‘Tariffs continue to be unstable’: Manufacturing contracts for sixth month in a row, ISM finds.

The trade wars are slowly dying down. The damage to American manufacturers is not.

Industrial production fell in August for the sixth month in a row, according to an index compiled by the Institute for Supply Management. The ISM surveys executives every month about how their businesses are doing.

The ISM manufacturing index rose to 48.7% in August from 48.0% in the prior month. Any number below 50% signals contraction.

“Tariffs continue to be unstable,” said one executive at a company that makes energy products.

“Orders across most product lines have decreased. Financial expectations for the rest of 2025 have been reduced,” an executive at a chemical maker told ISM.

“Too much uncertainty for us and our customers regarding tariffs and the U.S. and global economy.” (Full article.)

A U.S. Appeals court has ruled that most of Trump’s tariffs are illegal, and it appears that the issue is now headed to the U.S. Supreme Court.

After the departure of CDC director Susan Monarez, along with other CDC officials who quit, the Corporate Pharma-funded media is publishing “conspiracy theories” about how Secretary Kennedy has some plan in place to take all mRNA COVID vaccines off the market.

And yet one of the scientists who just quit, Debra Houry, who was chief medical officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and deputy director for program and science, expressed great doubt that Kennedy would even be able to do that.

When asked if she would be surprised to see Kennedy yank the COVID mRNA vaccine off the market altogether amid claims it is causing “vaccine injuries,” as reported by the Beast last Monday, Houry replied: “Maybe not, maybe not.”

Houry said she felt it would be “difficult” for the Trump administration to pull the jab altogether “right now,” because it still has approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The FDA would, by law, have to prove the vaccines were unsafe.

But if there was any doubt about whether or not Kennedy was planning on removing mRNA COVID-19 vaccines from the FDA, White House Deputy Press Secretary Kush Desai made it VERY CLEAR:

White House spokesman Kush Desai responded in a statement Monday,

“The FDA just greenlit four new COVID-19 vaccines with the 2025-2026 formula, and COVID-19 vaccines remain available to 100 percent of Americans who want them.

Instead of propagating baseless hysteria… Fake News reporters should try finding a new line of work.” (Source.)

Of course, this is what I have also been reporting. Instead of reading the hype in BOTH the Corporate Pharma-funded media, AND the Alternative Media who adores and loves RFK Jr., one needs to look at the ACTUAL ACTIONS OF HHS, the FDA, and the CDC.

And as I have reported, there are now MORE FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccines available than there were during the entire Biden Administration.

Venezuela’s Maduro Says If the US Attacks, He Will Declare the Country a ‘Republic in Arms’

Having lost embarrassingly to Iran recently, Trump’s military is now picking on the small country of Venezuela.

What could go wrong?

The US has deployed multiple warships toward Venezuela’s coast and appears to be preparing for a regime change effort

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro held a press conference on Monday where he addressed the deployment of US warships off Venezuela’s coast and warned that if the US attacked, he would declare his country a “republic in arms” and engage in an “armed struggle.”

According to Newsweek, the US has deployed nine warships, including three guided-missile destroyers, three amphibious assault ships, and one nuclear-powered fast attack submarine, toward Venezuela. The stated purpose of the deployment is to combat drug cartels, but there’s no evidence to support the US claim that Maduro is a cartel leader, signaling the real purpose is another regime change effort in Venezuela.

The Trump administration claims that Maduro is the leader of the Cartel of the Suns, a term used to describe a network of Venezuelan government and military officials allegedly involved in drug trafficking, but it does not actually exist as an organization. Maduro and other Latin American leaders, including Colombian President Gustavo Petro, have denied the US claims.

Maduro pointed out the involvement of Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who was a staunch supporter of the failed coup attempt against the Venezuelan leader during President Trump’s first term in office, and recently announced the bounty on Maduro’s head was increased to $50 million. “President Trump must be careful because Marco Rubio wants to drag him into a war against South America and stain the Trump name with blood,” he said.

In response to the US deployments, Maduro has deployed troops to the coast and the Colombian border, ordered additional naval patrols, and mobilized a pro-government militia he says has millions of members. “If Venezuela is attacked, we will resort to armed struggle to defend our national territory,” he said. “We would declare ourselves a republic in arms to guarantee our country’s peace, sovereignty, and development.”

Khanna, Massie to hold news conference with Epstein victims: ‘People are going to be outraged’

This is supposed to happen tomorrow. Sounds a lot like the Senator Ron Johnson “conferences” on COVID-19 vaccine victims that happened several times in D.C. where people were outraged, tears were shed, etc. – but NOTHING HAPPENED.

I expect the same here….

With Congress back in session this week, Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna of California and Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky are reigniting their push for the Justice Department to release files in the Jeffrey Epstein case.

Khanna says that “people are going to be outraged” after seeing a news conference he and Massie are holding on Wednesday with 10 victims of the late convicted sex offender.

The news conference is part of the effort by Khanna and Massie to pass through the House a bill requiring the Justice Department to release its files on the Epstein case.

“These victims haven’t spoken for decades. When Epstein got that lenient plea deal, no one talked to the victims or their lawyers,” Khanna said Monday in a Fox News Digital interview.

“My belief is, when the American people actually hear the victims for the first time, they are going to sympathize, their hearts are going to be broken, and all the victims are saying is for closure,” he predicted.

Khanna argued that “there are a lot of other rich, powerful men, politicians, business leaders, who have committed abuse and who have not been held accountable. That’s what we’re going to hear on Sept. 3, and people are going to be outraged, and I don’t see how, after that, the House can’t vote for the release of these files.”

Khanna and Massie are optimistic they have the votes.

“I’m confident we’re going to get the 218 votes for the discharge petition,” Khanna told Fox News Digital, as he was interviewed ahead of addressing the New Hampshire AFL-CIO’s annual Labor Day breakfast.

Judge says Trump administration’s use of US military in Los Angeles violated federal law

This is the first judge to rule that “the troops were violating the Posse Comitatus Act” which has been a federal law since 1878 that prohibits using the military for police work on U.S. soil.

This will end up in the Supreme Court, for sure. If Trump gets his way, martial law will be used in every major U.S. city.

A federal judge ruled Tuesday that President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth violated federal law by using the US military to help carry out law enforcement activities in and around Los Angeles this summer.

US District Judge Charles Breyer concluded that Trump’s use of thousands of federalized California National Guard members and US Marines to provide protection to federal agents during an aggressive immigration crackdown in the Los Angeles area ran afoul of the Posse Comitatus Act, a 19th Century law that generally prohibits the use of troops for domestic law enforcement purposes.

The ruling from Breyer, who held a multi-day trial last month over Trump’s use of the military in the state, comes as the president is weighing whether to send National Guard members to other cities, including ones in California and Illinois.

“President Trump and Secretary Hegseth have stated their intention to call National Guard troops into service in other cities across the country,” Breyer wrote in his 52-page opinion, “… thus creating a national police force with the President as its chief.”

Medicare is the Primary Contributor to the Rising National Debt

Good article by Chris Pope, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, published on MarketWatch.

He notes that while Musk and DOGE got so much press just after Trump took office, that most of their “cuts” were not real.

However, Trump’s appointed celebrity physician Mehmet Oz, who runs the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, he notes, has saved a lot more through cuts, to the tune of $50 billion.

But it’s not enough. Too much of the bloat in Medicare is codified by law, he writes, and will take an act of Congress to fix. He claims Medicare is the primary contributor to the National Debt.

Elon Musk’s leadership of the temporary “Department of Government Efficiency” dominated the beginning of President Donald Trump’s second term. DOGE, as Musk branded the new entity, was tasked with reducing federal spending through cutbacks to personnel, contracts, grants and “woke” initiatives.

An outcry from those targeted generated much news coverage. But “DOGE” had no statutory power. It was largely boxed in by existing appropriations and legal entitlements to federal funds established by Congress — and many of its cuts would be reversed in court. Skeptical analysts suggest that “DOGE” likely generated a one-time reduction in federal spending of just $15 billion.

By contrast, since Trump appointed celebrity physician Mehmet Oz to run the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, the agency has generated savings of more than $50 billion — which will likely increase over time.

Although Oz’s appointment received much less media attention than Musk’s, it came with much more power.

When Oz was nominated to run CMS, the New York Times accused him of having “sown misinformation — about Covid treatments, weight loss hacks and unproven supplements,” but it otherwise gave little attention to his ambitions. These have proven to be substantial, and CMS has generated major savings in the few months that Oz has been in charge.

CMS staff found insurers getting paid for Medicaid beneficiaries enrolled in multiple states, including one who was receiving benefits from 13 different states.

Following Oz’s appointment, CMS generated an expected $11 billion in savings for 2026 by tightening oversight of enrollment in the Obamacare plans created under the Affordable Care Act of 2010. It has also saved up to $25 billion per year, by prohibiting states from artificially inflating federal Medicaid reimbursements by taxing benefits.

Nonetheless, Oz’s attempts to cut Medicare’s costs have been frustrated by statutory constraints.

Most Medicare beneficiaries now receive their benefits through private insurers, which are paid according to the medical needs of enrollees. Yet insurers have been able to inflate these payments by claiming compensation for ambiguous medical conditions and attracting enrollees whose diagnoses are overcompensated by Medicare. Federal analysts have estimated that this increased the cost of the program by $84 billion in 2024.

Although CMS reforms this year have generated tens of billions of dollars in savings, Medicare’s annual cost is estimated to increase by more than $1 trillion over the next decade. This steady increase is largely beyond Oz’s control, as federal law requires the program to cover any newly developed medical service, regardless of its value or cost-effectiveness.

That makes Medicare the primary contributor to the rising national debt.
