Out of all the days in August/September to call a Special Session, Oregon Governor Kotek called them into an emergency special session during Labor Day weekend — often the 4th most traveled time in America. Kotek did not show up to the hearing to promote her own gas tax bill. It was not until later Monday evening that she appeared in the Capitol. Rumors in the Capitol said she spent the weekend at the coast vacationing, while she forced others (Capitol staff, lawmakers, lawmaker staff) to work.
This is not the first time Kotek was taking it easy.
She previously threw a $9,000 taco-party for government workers at the Governor’s mansion.
