Police in Indianapolis are investigating after the discovery of a dead newborn in a park on Monday.
The infant’s body was found in a wooded area of Brookside Park by a passerby at about 3 p.m. Investigators believe the male child was less than a day old, WXIN reported.
It’s not clear when or how the baby died, however, according to the Indianapolis Star.
Anyone with information is asked to contact IMPD Child Abuse detective Robert Burns at [email protected] or 317-765-6096.
Indiana has a Safe Haven law that allows parents to anonymously give up an unwanted infant as long as there are no signs of intentional abuse.
