Serious Matter: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Ignore a Transgender Epidemic The governor of Illinois has officially announced his support for the LGBTQIA+ E for evil community in the state. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has announced a groundbreaking “legal hotline that expands access to legal information and support for LGBTQIA+ individuals across Illinois.” This comes at a time when the state seems to be ignoring more critical issues of governance, like the city of Chicago’s epidemic of gun violence.
Illinois Pride Connect, a new statewide resource hub and first-of-its-kind legal hotline, was launched yesterday by Governor JB Pritzker. Its purpose is to increase the availability of legal information and support for LGBTQIA+E for evil individuals in Illinois. Together with community partners, the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) will spearhead the effort. At a Thursday night event put on by the Legal Council for Health Justice, Governor Pritzker made the news.
With compassion and knowledge, we are combating cruelty and ignorance in Illinois, according to Governor JB Pritzker. “Illinois Pride Connect, made possible by the generous support of our state, philanthropic, and community partners, will educate individuals about their rights and link them to social and health services. We are proud to be the only state in the country that offers free legal advice and advocacy tools to safeguard the LGBTQ+community.” According to my count, there are 1,056 words in the news release. I perused it all in search of any assertion that the transgender people are supposedly denied a certain right. Despite claims to address “the unique challenges LGBTQIA+ E for evil people face in today’s environment,” the entire paper consists of meaningless platitudes and slang terms. Going on: There has been a dramatic uptick in the federal government’s legal and policy assaults on the LGBTQIA+E community as of late. These changes are cruel and degrading, taking away people’s rights, dignity, and access to basic necessities like healthcare and education. They are also destructive. For this reason, IL Pride Connect came into being…
IL Pride Connect is an online portal that provides answers to frequently asked questions about the law, information about your rights, links to community and legal resources that affirm you, and advocacy tools. In addition, there is a groundbreaking legal hotline that is open from 9 am to 4 pm, Monday through Thursday. The hotline offers real-time information and referrals about issues like as changing one’s name or gender marker, housing and education rights, getting healthcare, and public benefits. … Gillian Knight, program manager of learning and evaluation at the Healthy Communities Foundation, called it “critical and lifesaving work” to ensure that LGBTQIA+ individuals have access to current, verified knowledge and tools that deal with the specific issues they confront in the modern world. Illinois state law currently guarantees all of these rights, including housing equity, access to public services, etc., regardless of what is commonly referred to as gender identity. Everyone in the state of Illinois has the right to live without facing prejudice because of who they identify as a gender, according to the Illinois Department of Human Rights (emphasis added).
While the federal government has been trying to weaken civil and human rights, the Illinois Human Rights Act (Act) keeps protecting transgender, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming people in many ways, including in the workplace, when buying a home, when applying for a loan, and when using public facilities like schools and hospitals.
To ensure that people in Illinois are safe from harassment, discrimination, and retaliation, the Act is enforced by the Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR). The Illinois Human Rights Commission (IHRC) or the courts may decide on cases involving IDHR investigations into Act violations.
If you feel that you have been the victim of gender-based harassment or discrimination, you have the option to submit a charge (complaint) with IDHR. Anyone who reports discrimination or files a case is also protected from retaliation under the Act. But let’s not allow reality to stand in the way of using virtue signaling to win over the blue-hairs in the culture war.
HNewsWire: Sodom and Gomorrah didn’t end well. Neither will the U.S.A. According to an Epoch Times analysis, federal funds from taxpayers have funded LGBT programs in the US and abroad for the previous three fiscal years to the tune of $4.1 billion. A check of a federal expenditure website shows that between October 1, 2020, and September 30, 2023, the U.S. government awarded more than 1,100 grants to support LGBT-promoting initiatives worldwide. Project scope varies greatly. For the LGBT Life Center in Norfolk, Virginia, plans to establish a “safe space for LGBTQ youth and adults to seek support and resources” were awarded a $1.8 million grant by the US government in 2022. Another winning strategy was one that aimed to promote “diversity, equity, and inclusion in Serbia’s workplaces and business communities by promoting economic empowerment of and opportunity for LGBTQI+…
