Today’s holiday of Labor Day has Communist roots, but we must remember that long before the lies and propaganda of Communism, America was founded on the principle that work is praiseworthy—and therefore laborers are worthy of eminent respect.
That’s because our nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. From God’s command to Adam to work (Gen.2:15) to the carpenter Jesus’s apostle Paul ordering, “if any man will not work, neither let him eat (2Thess. 3:10),” the Bible is filled with injunctions to labor and praise for those who work. The Founding Fathers took these injections very seriously and applied them to their political philosophy when forming the United States of America.
