As the battle over rainbow crosswalks continues in Florida, some liberals have reportedly been using their driveways and property to show their support for the LGBTQ community.
Florida cities have been directed by the Florida Department of Transportation to remove the street murals from public streets and sidewalks, but critics have resisted by taking up chalk and paint to keep the rainbows intact. One woman in the Tampa Bay area has made it a mission to make a statement, offering her painting services for free to any homeowner who wants to display the LGBTQIA+ symbols on their property.

“Whether it be driveways, your garage or garage door, trim on your patio, your steps on the front of your home, whatever it is applicable to the home and the resident, it’s just a way to emote love through that act,” Michelle Sasha, a local artist, told Tampa Bay 28.
“The first thing that really made me think that I wanted to do something about it was when I saw that they covered up the Pulse Nightclub crosswalk, and then I started seeing people painted over it every day,” she explained, referring to the mural in Orlando marking the 2016 shooting.
“What matters more to me than anything is to show the community and these marginalized communities specifically that people are paying attention, that people do love you, people do care,” Sasha said.
The news station reported that the artist had had over 60 people sign up for her free artwork in Pinellas County.
Social media users reacted to the story on X.
Hmm. I wonder how the Homeowners’ Associations feel about that. Can we now paint American Flags on our driveways?
Allow one, you’ve got to allow the other, right?

Painting your own driveway is fine if you own it. Painting public crosswalks to advertise your sexual preference is not.

Well, don’t care. If it’s their property then let them do what they want.
