President Trump emerged from a weekend of speculation to declare his robust health while celebrating dramatic crime reductions in the nation’s capital.
The president posted on Truth Social Sunday, breaking days of relative silence that had fueled widespread online theories about his wellbeing.
Trump’s message was characteristically direct and confident in tone.
“NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE. Also, DC IS A CRIME FREE ZONE!” the president wrote on his social media platform.
The declaration came after Trump spent the weekend at his Virginia resort, engaging in recreational activities away from public view.
Social media platforms had become saturated with unfounded speculation regarding the president’s condition during his brief absence from public events.
The rumor mill gained momentum following the White House’s release of a notably sparse schedule on Friday.
Conspiracy theories proliferated across various online platforms, with some users promoting baseless claims about the president’s status.
Even the hashtag “TrumpIsDead” gained traction on X.
These unfounded rumors were definitively dispelled when Trump was photographed departing for golf on Saturday.
The president was accompanied by his granddaughter, Kai Trump, during the outing in Sterling, Virginia.
While speculation swirled online, significant developments continued in Washington DC’s security landscape under federal oversight.
The president had recently assumed control of the DC Metropolitan Police Department, implementing new law enforcement strategies.
Crime statistics from the period showed remarkable improvements across multiple categories of criminal activity.
The New York Post reported that violent crime decreased by 45 percent compared to the same timeframe in the previous year, representing a substantial reduction.
Overall crime statistics dropped by 15 percent, indicating broad improvements in public safety throughout the district.
The dramatic crime reduction prompted acknowledgment from Democratic DC Mayor Muriel Bowser during a Wednesday press conference.
“We greatly appreciate the surge of officers that enhance what MPD has been able to do in this city,” Bowser stated.
Following his health declaration, Trump continued his social media activity with posts celebrating Labor Day.
The president used the holiday messaging to highlight positive economic indicators and American worker achievements.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed Thursday that Federal law enforcement officials in Washington, D.C., successfully thwarted a potential school shooting.
This happened after officials arrested a juvenile in the city’s seventh ward, Resist the Mainstream outlined.
The juvenile now faces multiple charges, including threats to kidnap and injure, possession of stolen property, firearms and ammunition and a large-capacity feeding device.
Investigators launched the case after discovering social media posts in which he allegedly threatened a school.
A search of the suspect’s residence yielded seven firearms.
“This was a juvenile who was a risk to not just himself but the community here in Washington, and he was removed from the community last night because of the law enforcement efforts of this administration,” Leavitt said.
Resist the Mainstream further noted Thursday that the city made headlines for going over a week without a homicide.
Residents have reported feeling safer, with a Washington Post poll indicating that 78 percent of D.C. residents feel very or somewhat safe in their neighborhoods.
This is up from 76 percent in May.
