This was Steve’s last post on July 6. I always told him his posts were the only classy thing on TBP. He was a classy guy and we will all miss him. Especially on Sundays.
A collaboration of: “The Classic Music Mafia”
Anthony Aaron, and Steve C.
Steve C / Classic Music Mafia: Here is the image depicting “The Classic Music Gangsters,” a whimsical and imaginative group of classical musicians with a playful gangster twist. The scene is set in an old-world music hall with rich, vintage decor, where the musicians are performing in stylish 1920s-era gangster attire. The atmosphere is mysterious yet sophisticated, capturing the unique blend of classical music and a lighthearted gangster theme. – aka.attrition
Every Sunday morning we present selections for our TBP family to enjoy.
We present symphonies, ensembles, quartets, octets, etc.
Not all of our music is strictly ‘classical’. We may stray a little, but we strive to make all of our selections ‘classy’.
We offer tips on proper ‘symphony etiquette’ and even some selections that are a bit light-hearted and fun aimed at a younger audience. Those pieces will be so designated, and might be a good way to introduce kids to a world of music that they might not have been exposed to or think of as old and ‘stuffy’.
A full symphony will run as long as it will. We don’t want to cut a symphony short. However, we also include some shorter pieces that we try to keep under fifteen minutes in length. You can sample each and hopefully find one or more that pleases you.
We hope that you enjoy our Sunday selections.

VERA DANILINA plays Concierto de ARANJUEZ by Joaquín Rodrigo
The Aranjuez Concerto for guitar is a story of the life of maestro Rodrigo. Joaquín Rodrigo went blind when he was three years old, he studied music and in Paris he met his future wife who was a pianist. But he lost his son at birth and his wife became very ill. His wife was his light and the hopes placed on the birth of his son died. Then a sublime inspiration came to him and he (as guitar) asks God (the orchestra) why his son has died, why so much pain, and the orchestra answers him. It is a dialogue between a man and God, that is why that concert is the best work of music ever written, at least for me.

“Taps”
Day is done, Gone the sun,
From the lakes, From the hills,
From the sky.
All is well, Safely rest,
God is nigh.
Fading light dims the sight
And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright
From afar, drawing nigh
Falls the night
Thanks and praise for our days
Neath the sun, neath the stars, neath the sky
As we go, this we know
God is nigh

1812 Overture, FANTASTIC Flash Mob – (you’ll get chills )
The Year 1812 Solemn Overture, Op. 49, popularly known as the 1812 Overture, is a concert overture in E♭ major written in 1880 by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky to commemorate the successful Russian defense against Napoleon’s invading Grande Armée in 1812.
In 1974, the Boston Pops added cannons, church bells and fireworks to draw crowds to their Independence Day concert. It was so successful that the inclusion of the “1812 Overture” became a staple.
