American workers have been getting screwed for decades by a rigged system.
Most politicians just look the other way because it’s easier than fighting the corporate donors.
But Ron DeSantis used two words that left corporate America scrambling for cover.
DeSantis calls out the H-1B visa scam that’s been bleeding American workers dry
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis went on Fox News and did something most politicians refuse to do – he told the truth about what’s really happening to American workers.
During an appearance on The Ingraham Angle, DeSantis didn’t mince words about the H-1B visa program that’s been gutting middle-class jobs for years.
“Total scam.”
That’s how DeSantis described the whole rotten system, and corporate boardrooms across America probably choked on their coffee.
“These companies game the system,” DeSantis explained. “Some of these companies are laying off large numbers of Americans while also hiring new H-1B workers and renewing existing H-1B visas.”
The Governor laid out exactly how the con works.
Companies bring in American workers to train the foreign replacements, then fire the Americans and keep the cheaper foreign labor.
“Often, people used to say, ‘We’re getting the cream of the crop from all around the world.’ The reality is that’s not actually what H-1Bs are,” DeSantis stated.
Most of these visas go to workers from India, where DeSantis says “there’s a cottage industry about how all those people make money off this system.”

The real victims of corporate America’s favorite scam
Look, here’s what’s really happening that nobody wants to talk about.
Corporate executives figured out they could replace American engineers, programmers, and tech workers with cheaper foreign labor – and they could make it sound noble by calling it “bringing in the best and brightest.”
What a load of garbage.
DeSantis sees right through this corporate doublespeak, and he’s not afraid to call it out.
“Why would we be importing foreign workers when we have our own people that we need to take care of?” DeSantis asked during the interview.
The Governor pointed out that artificial intelligence is already displacing young American workers, making this whole scheme even more cruel.
Meanwhile, President Trump has been talking about doubling the number of Chinese students to 600,000, but DeSantis isn’t buying that either.
“There is a significant percentage of the Chinese students who are engaged by the CCP,” DeSantis warned.
The Governor called this student program a “bailout to colleges” and an open door for communist spies.
“I’d rather have none,” DeSantis said about Chinese students.
Corporate America’s indentured servitude system exposed
DeSantis didn’t stop with just calling out the H-1B program.
He described the whole system as “indentured servitude” – and that’s exactly what it is.
These foreign workers can’t easily switch jobs because their visa is tied to their employer.
That gives companies incredible leverage to pay below-market wages and treat workers like property.
“Companies lay off Americans while bringing in new H-1Bs. It’s not the best and brightest – it’s a cottage industry, mostly from one country,” DeSantis explained.¹
The numbers back up what DeSantis is saying.
Government data shows over a million Indians are stuck waiting for employment-based green cards.²
That’s not a coincidence – that’s a business model.
Companies have figured out they can exploit this system to drive down wages for everyone.
The timing couldn’t be worse for American workers
Here’s what should make you absolutely furious about this whole setup.
Young Americans are already getting hammered by artificial intelligence taking over white-collar jobs.
College graduates are struggling to find decent work in their field.
And what’s the corporate response?
Import even more foreign workers to compete for the jobs that are left.
DeSantis gets it: “Look at what’s happening to young people in this current job market because of artificial intelligence. You are starting to see evidence that they’re having a much tougher time because of what’s happening with AI.”³
The Governor has been talking about how AI will threaten white-collar jobs and connecting it to economic issues that affect younger Americans – like being able to afford a house.
Meanwhile, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is floating plans for a “gold card” program that would let wealthy foreigners buy their way into permanent residency for $5 million.⁴
Because what America really needs right now is more ways for the ultra-rich to skip the line while working families get pushed aside.
Other Republicans are finally waking up to the scam
DeSantis isn’t alone in calling out this rigged system.
Republican Senator Mike Lee has floated the idea of pausing H-1B visas entirely.
Vice President JD Vance has pointed out the insanity of tech companies laying off thousands of American workers while applying for thousands of overseas work visas.
“You see big tech firms laying off 9,000 employees and then applying for thousands of overseas work visas – it just doesn’t add up,” Vance said in a podcast.⁵

Even Trump has been all over the map on this issue.
During his first term, he imposed restrictions on H-1B visas because of concerns about abuse and economic damage to American workers.
But just this January, Trump was at the White House with tech billionaires talking about how much he likes the program.
“I like both sides of the argument, but I also like very competent people coming into our country,” Trump said.⁶
That kind of wishy-washy approach is exactly why this scam has been allowed to continue for so long.
The cottage industry built on American workers’ backs
You want to know what this really is?
It’s a massive wealth transfer from American families to corporate shareholders and foreign workers.
DeSantis called it a “cottage industry” – and that’s putting it nicely.
This is organized economic warfare against the American middle class, dressed up in corporate-speak about “global competitiveness” and “attracting talent.”
The whole system is designed to benefit everyone except the people who built this country and made it great.
Companies get cheaper labor.
Foreign workers get access to American jobs and a path to permanent residency.
Immigration lawyers and consulting firms make billions facilitating the whole scheme.
And American workers? They get to train their replacements before getting shown the door.
The American Immigration Council – which sounds official but is really just an advocacy group for immigration lawyers – keeps pushing back against criticism of the H-1B program.
They claim immigrant and native-born workers “complement each other” instead of competing.⁷
Tell that to the American engineers who got laid off after training their H-1B replacements.
DeSantis is fighting for the forgotten Americans
Here’s why DeSantis’s comments matter so much.
Most politicians won’t touch this issue because the corporate donors who benefit from cheap foreign labor also write the campaign checks.
But DeSantis has shown he’s willing to take on powerful interests when American workers are getting screwed.
He’s connected the dots between AI displacing workers, young Americans struggling to find good jobs, and the continued importation of foreign workers to compete for what’s left.
The Governor understands that you can’t claim to be “America First” while simultaneously rigging the job market against American workers.
This isn’t about being anti-immigrant – it’s about being pro-American worker.
DeSantis is asking the right questions: Why are we making it harder for our own people to succeed?
The corporate establishment won’t like DeSantis calling their favorite scam what it is.
But American families who’ve been getting the shaft for decades finally have someone willing to fight for them.
And that’s exactly what we need more of in Washington, D.C.
