The Oregon State Fire Marshall uses this recent photo to show you how home-made fire barriers help stop wildfires. By creating space barriers between homes and a brush, you can slow the spread of a fire while also giving firemen access to move within a fire zone. The Fire Marshall says that they have been able to save 600 homes due, impart, to homeowners using these strategies to help firefighters.
