You don’t know whether you should read the news or remain uninformed. Just this morning I discovered:
Burnaby City Council passes resolution boycotting Israeli products.
Since when did a Municipal Authority in Canada become responsible for International Relations? They are an entity of the Provinces under the Constitution. It’s the Federal Government that is vested with responsibility for International relations and International trade. Is this the same City Council that tried to stop the expansion to the pipeline from Alberta —-and lost. Outside their jurisdiction. But making fools of themselves once seems to be insufficient. Under what authority does the Council enter such areas of power?
There is a report that the Alberta Cabinet has moved to provide more authority to Minsters to refuse freedom of information requests. Does this sound like stuff that is consistent with Danielle Smith philosophy when she was running to be Premier?
Another report exposes the TV sport watching of employees of the Federal Government while on the job. Hundreds of thousands of dollars purchasing TV’s for the employees to watch ‘important ‘ sport events all on tax payers dime. And these are employees of our Federal Tax Collector—the Canada Revenue Agency.
