The Trump administration is cutting more than 500 jobs at U.S. Agency for Global Media, the parent organization of Voice of America.
Kari Lake, acting CEO of the U.S. Agency for Global Media, made an announcement about cuts on Friday.
On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth blocked the removal of Michael Abramowitz as director of VOA.
He also ruled on Monday that the Trump administration was not in compliance with his previous orders to restore operations of the VOA, according to the Associated Press. His ruling requires Lake to sit for a deposition with lawyers for VOA employees on Sept. 15.
Lamberth said the Trump administration has “one final opportunity, short of a contempt trial” to comply.
