The Issaquah School District in Washington State has just put a high school Spanish teacher named Kelsey Early on “non-disciplinary leave” after she was caught on social media posting videos of her singing the National Anthem and the Pledge of Allegiance, substituting hate speech and profanity for the original lyrics.

Hatred on tap in WA schools
The substituted lyrics are aimed at President Trump, ICE, and Israel. Surprise, surprise… Early is a radical Palestinian supporter. She recorded the videos inside a classroom and used such deep-thinking, revolting rhetoric as “F*ck ICE & F*ck Trump, Free Palestine.”
The story was reported by The Post Millennial, which did an exclusive on it. Unsurprisingly, a search for the story in the rest of corporate media turned up nothing.
The district appears to be straddling the fence on this when it should be taking proactive measures to remove the teacher. Instead, they are hiding behind First Amendment rights and claiming that even though the incident has caused upset and disruption, they intend to “maintain neutral, welcoming learning environments.” That translates into them doing precisely nothing over this teacher’s abhorrent actions.

The Ari Hoffman Show on Talk Radio 570 KVI posted the statement from the district on X:
BREAKING: The Issaquah School District is placing Kelsey Early “on non-disciplinary leave pending the outcome of an investigation.”
District leaders will remind staff of the regulations and laws governing expression in our schools.
Full statement from the district: “The Issaquah School District is committed to the safety and well-being of every student, which includes maintaining welcoming learning environments for students of all backgrounds. Recently, the district learned that an employee shared multiple political comments and videos on their personal social media accounts, including some recorded in an empty classroom. This activity has created disruption in our schools and raised concern among students, families and the community. While we respect employees’ First Amendment rights, and acknowledge the employee’s cooperation, state law and district regulations require that staff expression not interfere with the orderly operation of schools or students’ education. As a result, the district is placing the employee on non-disciplinary leave pending the outcome of an investigation. District leaders will remind staff of the regulations and laws governing expression in our schools.”


Then the district made it clear that the leave was non-disciplinary and would only take place until a full investigation could be conducted. Again, this pretty much means that the teacher will get a slap on the wrist, and as soon as this dies down, she’ll be back teaching children and spreading her hate.
Gaslighting parents
Hoffman pursued the story and got a hold of an email sent to parents by the district that stated, “Our teachers will continue to follow the approved curriculum to help keep our focus on student learning. In addition, I assure you that the Pledge of Allegiance and the national anthem will not be altered in our school, classrooms, or field of play.”
That was obviously meant to placate the anger of parents who got wind of the story. It won’t work.

The district’s “expression policy” for staff acknowledges First Amendment rights but notes that “Employee expression that has an adverse impact on district operations and/or negatively impacts an employee’s ability to perform their job for the district may still result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.”
“Staff expression includes the performance of job responsibilities and how they represent the district in their use of district email accounts, school district buildings, district property, classrooms, and how they present themselves to students.”
“Employees who use social media platforms are encouraged to remember that the school community may not be able to separate employees as private citizens from their role within the district. Employee expression on social media platforms that interferes with the district’s operations or prevents the district from functioning efficiently and effectively may be subject to discipline up to and including termination.”

In an attempt to cover their behinds legally, the district also included in the letter a reference to state law on the “Prohibition of harassment, intimidation, and bullying.”
Outrage grows among the Jewish community
Issaquah’s sizable Israeli and Jewish community is incensed over the incident as they should be. There was already growing concern within the district over anti-Israel sentiment. This will just fuel the hatred and incite more violence against Jews, conservatives, ICE, and Trump supporters.


This is evidently not the first controversy to hit Issaquah schools since the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack in Israel, where 1,200 people were butchered. Hundreds were kidnapped as well, and many men, women, and children were raped and tortured. There have been abundant accusations of bias in the district’s classroom discussions and in its responses.



Predictably, the district is not saying how long the investigation will take or what consequences the teacher could face. Instead, leftist bureaucrats are insisting that they are reminding “staff of state laws and district rules governing political expression to prevent similar incidents from disrupting classrooms,” according to The Post Millennial.
