Ron DeSantis has been busy making Florida the conservative success story of America.
But even he might be surprised by the latest numbers coming out of the Sunshine State.
And Democrat Party leaders are in full panic mode after Ron DeSantis exposed one devastating fact about voters.
Florida accounts for nearly half of Democrats’ nationwide voter registration collapse
Governor Ron DeSantis dropped a political bombshell on Tuesday that sent shockwaves through Democrat Party leadership across the country.
The Florida governor revealed that his state alone accounts for a staggering 40% of the entire nationwide drop in Democrat voter registration over the past four years.
“Forty percent of the nationwide drop in Democrat voter registration comes from a single state: Florida,” DeSantis announced on X. “Democrats are down more than 850,000 from 2020 to 2024 in the Sunshine State.”¹
That’s not a typo – 850,000 registered Democrats have fled the party in Florida since 2020.
But here’s where it gets even more brutal for the Democrat Party.
According to a devastating New York Times report that DeSantis highlighted, Democrats lost ground to Republicans in every single state that tracks voter registration by political party – all 30 states plus Washington, D.C.²
The total carnage? Democrats hemorrhaged approximately 2.1 million registered voters nationwide between 2020 and 2024, while Republicans gained a whopping 4.5 million voters.³
Democrats admit their party “sucks” as voters flee in droves
Look, when your own major donors start saying your party “sucks,” you know you’re in deep trouble.
That’s exactly what one prominent Democrat donor told The Hill: “Our party sucks. Our leadership sucks. Our message sucks. Why would anyone want to be a Democrat?”⁴
The donor didn’t stop there, adding: “We’re completely out of touch.”
And the data backs up what this donor is saying. A Wall Street Journal poll from last month showed Democrats’ popularity has cratered to its lowest point in 35 years, with 63% of voters holding an unfavorable view of the party.⁵
But here’s what should really terrify Democrat strategists – only about one in five Democrats describe their own party in a positive light, according to an Associated Press poll from July.⁶
When your own voters won’t even say nice things about you, that’s a political death spiral.
Democratic strategist Eddie Vale tried to sound the alarm for his party: “I think it should be an alarm. I think it’s a real problem.”⁷
Another Democrat strategist was even more blunt about the party’s predicament: “Two things need to happen for Trump’s political movement to fail: Trump and MAGA popularity plummets, and Democrats’ brand popularity rises. The former is happening, but not the latter.”⁸
The real reason voters are abandoning the Democrat Party
You want to know what this really tells us? It’s not just about Trump winning – it’s about Democrats completely losing touch with working Americans.
Vale admitted what every honest observer already knew: voters “all shared the broader fact that they are working class and not feeling like we were talking to them or actually going to help them.”⁹
Meanwhile, what’s DeSantis doing in Florida? He’s building a conservative paradise where families want to live, businesses want to operate, and people can actually afford to raise their kids.
No mask mandates destroying small businesses. No woke ideology being forced down parents’ throats. No crushing tax burdens driving families into poverty.
Just good old-fashioned conservative governance that puts Florida families first.
Republican strategist Susan Del Percio summed it up perfectly: “It shows how Democrats took things for granted and got out-hustled by Republicans.”¹⁰
Here’s what the Democrat establishment refuses to admit – this isn’t about messaging or campaign tactics. This is about their radical leftist agenda finally catching up with them.
When you spend four years telling parents they can’t have a say in their children’s education, when you push policies that drive up gas prices and grocery costs, when you treat law-abiding gun owners like criminals – eventually, people notice.
And in Florida, they’ve been noticing in massive numbers.
DeSantis has turned the Sunshine State into a conservative beacon that attracts freedom-loving Americans from all over the country while Democrats keep hemorrhaging support.
The numbers don’t lie – 850,000 former Democrats in Florida figured out which party actually represents their values.
That’s not a coincidence. That’s the direct result of principled conservative leadership showing Americans there’s a better way.
