A cat named Clover who vanished during the devastating Texas floods over Fourth of July weekend has been reunited with his family nearly two months later.
The disappearanceĀ

Clover disappeared during the severe flooding that struck Central Texas including the town of Kerrville, where he lived with his owners, Hannah and Kyle. The rising waters caused widespread damage, and in the chaos, Clover went missing. āAfter being separated from his family, Clover the cat is finally home,ā wrote Kerrville Pets Alive on Facebook.
The rescue

Cloverās owners searched for him daily. According to Kerrville Pets Alive, Hannah and Kyle had recently spotted him, but due to āthe trauma Clover endured,ā he was āscared and hesitant to approach them.ā The nonprofit stepped in to safely capture Clover and provide medical care including treatment for a āsevere eye injuryā sustained during his absence. Clover ultimately lost the injured eye but made a full recovery aside from that.
The reunionĀ

A little less than a week after he was rescued, Clover was finally āhappily reunited with a very relieved Hannah and Kyle.ā According to KWTX-TV, Clover had been registered with Kerrville Pets Aliveās lost pet database, which was created to help reconnect families separated during the flooding.
Other pet reunionsĀ

Clover isnāt the only animal who successfully made their way home. In July ā only 16 hours after the floods hit ā another pet owner was able to track down her dog, Ziva, using the pupās GPS collar. Erin Doguetās dog went missing when the Medina River flooded her Texas ranch. Doguet, who was away in Colorado at the time, used the GPS collar to help her sister, Shannon, and their pet sitter, Taelyn, locate Ziva, who was trapped in a flooded gully at the edge of the property. āI burst into tears knowing they found her alive! When the collar kept reporting her same location for hours on the river, I feared she was dead,ā Doguet said, noting that Ziva was āphysically unharmed.ā
