Attorney General Pam Bondi has fired a Department of Justice employee after she repeatedly bragged about flipping off National Guard personnel outside her office building in Washington, DC.
The employee, identified as Elizabeth Baxter, worked as a paralegal in the DOJ’s environmental division.
Bondi confirmed the firing in a statement Friday after reviewing security footage and witness testimony.
Baxter first made headlines after a confrontation on August 18. She arrived for work at the DOJ’s “4CON” building in NoMa at 8:21 a.m. and told a security guard she had just flipped off a National Guardsman stationed near a metro stop.
She reportedly added, “F**k the National Guard,” before clocking in for her shift.
Later that same day, DOJ cameras captured her extending her middle finger toward another National Guard member while saying, “F**k you.”
On August 25, Baxter clocked in for work again. This time, she bragged once more to a security guard about telling the troops to “F**k off.”
Bondi issued a swift termination notice after reviewing multiple incidents, per Trending Politics.
“Pursuant to Article II of the United States Constitution and the laws of the United States and based on your inappropriate conduct towards National Guard service members, your employment with the Department of Justice is hereby terminated, and you are removed from federal service effective immediately,” the official notice read.
Bondi did not hold back when addressing the case publicly. She told the New York Post that the DOJ will not tolerate employees undermining the department’s mission.
“This DOJ remains committed to defending President Trump’s agenda and fighting to make America safe again. If you oppose our mission and disrespect law enforcement — you will NO LONGER work at DOJ,” Bondi said.
The firing comes after another embarrassing episode inside the same DOJ building. Sean Dunn, another paralegal, was previously fired after he assaulted a National Guard member with a Subway sandwich before fleeing the scene.
Despite clear video evidence, a DC grand jury refused to indict Dunn for felony assault on a federal officer. The decision angered conservatives who pointed out that juries in the same city showed no hesitation in upgrading lesser January 6 offenses to serious assault charges.
“Dozens of January 6 protesters faced multiple years in prison for far less, but a DOJ employee assaults the Guard and walks away without an indictment,” one source familiar with the Dunn case said.
Baxter’s firing highlights Bondi’s effort to draw a clear line between career DOJ staff and the department’s mission under President Trump. The attorney general has made it clear that public disrespect for law enforcement will end careers in her department.
