I remember a time when tragedy brought this country together. When a terrible event happened, the noise of politics would stop. We were all just Americans, united in our sadness. We cared for each other.
But that was then, wasn’t it? Now, something has changed. There is a coldness in our culture. Some people see a crisis as a chance to divide us. They use pain to push their agenda. It’s a grim new reality.
This was on full display after the awful school shooting in Minneapolis. Before families could even mourn, former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki went on social media. She didn’t offer comfort. Instead—get this—she attacked the faith of the victims. “Prayer is not freaking enough,” she wrote. “Enough with the thoughts and prayers.”
Thankfully, the White House wasn’t having any of it. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt hit back, and she hit back hard. She defended the millions of good Americans who find strength in God.
From ‘Breitbart’:
“I saw the comments of my predecessor, Ms. Psaki, and frankly, I think they’re incredibly insensitive and disrespectful to the tens of millions of Americans of faith across this country who believe in the power of prayer, who believe that prayer works, and who believe that in a time of mourning like this when beautiful young children were killed while praying in a church, it’s utterly disrespectful to deride the power of prayer in this country.”

An Unholy Alliance Against Faith
You’d think Psaki was just one person with a bad take, right? Wrong. It’s like they all got the same memo. Over on CNN, Dana Bash was praising the local mayor for “scoffing” at prayer. She said people should feel “raw rage” instead. This wasn’t just a slip of the tongue. It shows a deep hatred for our traditional beliefs.
It took Vice President JD Vance to ask the simple question every single one of us was thinking. He saw this strange new attack on faith for what it was. “We pray because our hearts are broken,” he said. “Why do you feel the need to attack other people for praying when kids were just killed praying?” That’s the real question, isn’t it? It shows how out of touch these elites are. They just don’t get it.
The Pretext for Political Attacks
And just in case you thought this was about genuine emotion, don’t worry. It was a political hit job, pure and simple. Psaki quickly used the shooting to attack President Trump’s crime plan. See how that works? She used dead children to score cheap political points. It’s disgusting.
So, that’s the line in the sand. On one side are people who turn to God in times of pain. On the other are the elites who scoff and mock. The war on our values is real. It is up to us to stand up and defend what’s right.
Key Takeaways
- Liberal elites reveal their disdain for faith in moments of tragedy.
- The White House is now defending American values against media attacks.
- The Left uses tragedy as a pretext for cynical political point-scoring.
- This is not a policy debate; it is a full-blown culture war.
