There’s a spiritual sickness spreading in America. Have you noticed it, too? It’s a cold, empty feeling coming from the top. It’s a feeling that our basic traditions, the things that always held us together, are now seen as a problem. Our faith in God, once a source of unity, is now treated like something to be ashamed of.
If you want to see a perfect example, just look at what happened in Minneapolis. After that evil monster shot up the Annunciation Catholic School, the whole community was in shock. Innocent kids were killed during morning Mass. And what did Democrat Mayor Jacob Frey do? He got in front of the cameras and spit on their faith. “Don’t say this is about ‘thoughts and prayers’ right now,” he sneered, “these kids were literally praying.” I mean, can you believe the nerve?
Thank God someone had the guts to speak up. Minnesota Bishop Robert Barron heard those comments and called them exactly what they were: “completely asinine.” He reminded everyone that faith isn’t some magic bubble. It’s the rock you stand on when the world falls apart. Prayer isn’t weakness. It’s where we find the strength to act.
A Glaring Double Standard on Hate
And this is the part that really gets me. Bishop Barron pointed out the disgusting hypocrisy that we see every single day from the Left. He said what everyone knows is true: this was an anti-Catholic hate crime. He then laid the perfect trap, asking a question the media can’t and won’t answer.
From ‘Fox News Digital’:
“If someone attacked a synagogue while congregants were praying, would anyone doubt that it was an antisemitic act? If someone shot up a mosque while the devout were praying, would anyone doubt that it was an anti-Islamic attack? So, why would we even hesitate to say that a maniac shooting into a Catholic Church while children are at prayer was committing an anti-Catholic act?”
Of course, we get nothing but crickets. The silence is their answer. It tells you everything you need to know about what they really think.
Not Just Words, a Violent Reality
This isn’t just about some politician’s bad take. This stuff has real-world consequences. While Mayor Frey is busy mocking prayer, there’s a real, violent war being waged on Christians in this country. The numbers are real, and they’re terrifying. There has been a 700% increase in violent attacks against Christians in just the last few years. Let that sink in.
This isn’t a coincidence. The Family Research Council found there were at least 415 attacks on churches this year alone. These aren’t just pranks. These are targeted acts of hate. And it’s getting worse because leaders like Frey would rather attack our faith than protect our churches.
The Strength of Faith-Fueled Action
Here’s the biggest lie the Left loves to tell about faith: that praying is the same as doing nothing. Bishop Barron blew that lie to pieces. He said that “prayer by no means stands in contrast to decisive moral action.” He even brought up Martin Luther King Jr.—a man of deep prayer who changed the world. Does anyone think his faith made him weak? It’s an absurd idea.
Vice President JD Vance gets it. “We pray because our hearts are broken,” he said. “We pray because we know that God… can inspire us to further action.” It’s just common sense.
This whole attack on “thoughts and prayers” is really an attack on America’s soul. It’s the Left’s attempt to cut us off from God and leave us weak and alone. But for millions of us, faith isn’t a weakness to hide. It’s our strength. For them, prayer is a sign of surrender. For us, it is the ultimate act of defiance.
Key Takeaways
- Democrat leaders now openly mock prayer in the face of tragedy.
- The media ignores the glaring double standard for anti-Christian hate.
- Violent attacks against American churches are rising at an alarming rate.
- Faith is the foundation for moral action, not a substitute for it.
