Vice President JD Vance just dropped a truth bomb in Wisconsin, exposing how President Donald Trump’s tough-on-crime policies are making waves — and making Democrats squirm.
In a fiery speech, Vance praised Trump’s recent initiatives to curb violent crime, particularly in Washington, D.C., while slamming Democratic leaders for seemingly siding with chaos over common sense, as Breitbart reports.
Speaking to a crowd in La Crosse, Vance outlined how the Trump administration took decisive action by deploying the National Guard to support local law enforcement in the nation’s capital.
Trump’s bold D.C. move unfolds
This federal surge, aimed at tackling rampant crime, has already shown results with a sharp drop in violent incidents like murders, carjackings, and armed robberies within just 14 days.
Even D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser couldn’t ignore the impact, acknowledging an impressive 87% reduction in carjackings over 20 days compared to last year’s numbers.
“We greatly appreciate the surge of officers that enhance what [the Metropolitan Police Department] has been able to do in this city,” Bowser said, crediting the federal effort for making a real difference.
Democrats criticized for opposing safety measures
Yet, despite these wins, Vance pointed out that some Democrat leaders are more focused on opposing Trump than protecting their own communities.
“Why is it that you have mayors and governors who are angrier about Donald Trump offering to help them than they are about the fact that their own residents are being carjacked and murdered in the streets?” Vance asked pointedly.
Turns out, resisting Trump seems to be the progressive playbook, even when it means turning a blind eye to safer streets.
Vance calls out major city crime
Vance didn’t stop at D.C., shining a light on crime challenges in cities like Milwaukee and Chicago, where safety remains a pressing concern for residents.
“Is Milwaukee a super safe city right now? It has some crime problems,” Vance noted, balancing his admiration for the city’s hardworking folks with a candid take on its struggles.
It’s a fair point — acknowledging the beauty of a place shouldn’t mean ignoring the real issues that keep families up at night.
Trump’s strategy flips narrative
Perhaps the sharpest jab came when Vance relayed Trump’s own words: “JD, I don’t know how I did it? I have actually gotten the Democrats to come out in defense of crime.”
If that doesn’t sum up the absurdity of the situation, what does? When a leader’s push for law and order gets spun as controversial, you have to wonder if common sense took a vacation.
Vance wrapped up with a witty nudge, suggesting that if Trump endorsed something as harmless as puppies, certain progressive figures would rush to disagree just for the sake of opposition. As he put it, “If Donald Trump came out tomorrow and said he really likes puppies, you would have AOC come out and say ‘Puppies are terrible.’” It’s a humorous way to highlight a serious problem — reflexive partisanship over practical solutions.
