Today Catholics honor the martyrdom of Jesus’ cousin St. John the Baptist, imprisoned and killed by King Herod through the machinations of Herodias. She hated John for truthfully stating that her marriage to Herod was not licit since she was actually his brother‘s wife. But truth is as unpopular now among the wicked in modern America as it was in first century Israel, and Democrats have developed very much of Herodias’s mentality.
Or, put another way, if a person expresses a truth which is contrary to their ideology, leftists want to see that person jailed or dead.
