The Parents Demanding Justice Alliance (PDJA) is calling for immediate accountability after a Texas father, Justin Kucher, was driven to suicide following a school board’s decision to pursue bogus felony charges against him.
Civil rights attorney C.J. Grisham testified before the board that his client, Kucher, had done nothing illegal. Kucher had left his phone recording—a lawful act under Texas law—while stepping out to his car. The device captured the superintendent speaking disparagingly about him. Instead of addressing misconduct, the board president and other members voted to have him criminally charged.
“The false weight of a felony accusation crushed Justin,” said Kelly John Walker, Co‑Founder of PDJA. “He feared losing his freedom and his children, even though the law was on his side. That fear—stoked by corrupt officials—cost him his life. As Mr. Grisham said, his blood is on the hands of this board.”
Attorney Grisham stated: “My client, Justin, committed suicide because he was facing a bogus felony charge from this board. He’s dead because you people can’t stomach the fact that someone stood up to you.”
“This is precisely why we founded the Parents Demanding Justice Alliance,” said Sam Sorbo, Co‑Founder. “Parents should never again face persecution, false charges, or death because government officials abused their authority. We are demanding justice for Justin and every parent targeted by this weaponization.”
Walker urged newsrooms to dig in: “We call on national and local media to investigate this case thoroughly—name the board votes, examine the legal basis (or lack thereof), and expose the abuse of power so it never happens again.”
PDJA is demanding:
- Full accountability for the board president, superintendent, and every member who supported this unlawful action.
- Immediate investigation by Texas state leaders and Congress, including Rep. John Carter (TX‑31), who represents Temple.
- National awareness that this is not an isolated case—parents across America are being silenced, retaliated against, and destroyed for speaking up.
The tragic death of Justin Kucher adds to a growing list of cases PDJA is documenting nationwide, underscoring the urgent need for systemic reform.
