An investigation is underway in Indiana after a woman and her 3-year-old son were found dead on Monday.
Greenwood police told WTHR that they performed a welfare check and found Karon Clay, 33, and her son, Karter Clay, deceased. The pair had reportedly moved into the neighborhood a few months prior.
A cause of death is undetermined at this point as the bodies showed signs of decomposition, a police spokesperson said.
The Daily Journal reported that the Clays’ bodies were located inside the home. Chief of police Matt Fillenwarth said they were awaiting a warrant to fully enter the home and thoroughly investigate the scene.
It is unclear whether foul play is suspected in this case. Karon and Karter Clay’s autopsies are scheduled for Tuesday.
