Another federal judge just threw a wrench into one of the most important pro-life victories in recent history—President Trump’s bold plan to cut off taxpayer dollars from Planned Parenthood. The good news? This is just a delay, not a defeat. And if the Left thinks this fight is over, they’re in for a rude awakening.
Let’s be clear: what’s at stake here isn’t just a budget line item. It’s the moral integrity of our government. For decades, conservatives have fought to end the obscene practice of funneling hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to an organization that performs over 300,000 abortions a year. President Trump’s signature legislation—a sweeping 10-year ban on Medicaid reimbursements to Planned Parenthood—was a major step toward finally ending this abuse. But now, thanks to a federal judge’s indefinite block, that goal is temporarily stalled.
Temporarily is the key word.
“This is just a temporary setback,” said Noah Brandt, head of government affairs at Live Action. And he’s exactly right. The judge’s order doesn’t kill the effort. It simply sets the stage for what could be a monumental Supreme Court battle—one that, given the current makeup of the Court, we’re more than ready to win.
This isn’t just about Planned Parenthood. It’s about whether unelected judges can override the will of the American people and a duly elected president. Trump was voted into office—and re-elected—on a promise to defund Planned Parenthood and protect the unborn. Congress passed the bill. The public supports it. Yet here we are, once again, watching a single activist judge stand in the way of democracy and decency.
Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council put it well: “We’re inching toward the first down.” That’s exactly how this works. The pro-life movement has always been about persistence. We took the hits. We kept fighting. And in 2022, we saw the fruits of that labor when Roe v. Wade was finally overturned—a victory many thought impossible just a few years earlier.
Now, the Left is trying to use the courts to delay our momentum until the 2026 midterms, hoping they can flip the House and kill this bill for good. That’s the real strategy here. The Democrats know they can’t win this fight in the court of public opinion, so they’re hoping to run out the clock and rely on judicial activism to do what they can’t accomplish legislatively.
But they’ve underestimated the resolve of the pro-life movement. Again.
Let’s not forget what this is really about. Planned Parenthood is not a health care provider in the traditional sense. They’re an abortion business—plain and simple. While they like to tout mammograms and cancer screenings, the truth is they don’t even offer mammograms. What they do offer is abortion, and lots of it. In fact, according to their own annual report, abortion makes up a massive portion of their revenue stream.
And yet, they receive over half a billion dollars a year from the federal government—mostly through Medicaid reimbursements. That’s your money. My money. Funding an organization that ends innocent lives under the guise of “reproductive healthcare.”
President Trump’s bill was a principled and necessary move to end this madness. And while the courts have slowed us down, they haven’t stopped us. The Department of Justice is preparing to appeal, and if this case makes it to the Supreme Court—as it should—we have every reason to believe they’ll rule in favor of the legislation.
In the meantime, conservatives must stay focused. The 2026 midterms are now more critical than ever. We need to hold the House and expand our majority in the Senate. Because if we lose ground, the Left will reverse every gain we’ve made—not just on abortion, but on parental rights, border security, energy independence, and everything else we’ve fought for over the past decade.
So yes, this is a roadblock. But it’s not the end of the road. It’s a reminder that the fight for life is never easy—but it is always worth it. The unborn don’t have lobbyists or legal teams. They have us. And we will not back down. Not now. Not ever.
