There are so many ways to give thanks and November, the month of Thanksgiving, is the perfect time. Use these ways to show gratitude.
- Bring dinner to someone who does things for everyone but themselves. You could also give a snack basket, a homemade treat or a gift card to their favorite place to eat.
- Light a candle and reflect on a recent blessing. Tell others what you’re doing so they can practice gratitude as well.
- Create a collage of people, things, places, views and all the things that make you most grateful.
- Walk outside or go for a hike and appreciate nature for what it is in the Fall and
almost winter. Hello, color change!
- Write reviews for products/services/businesses that you love!
- Take someone on a date night, whether with a friend or by yourself! Tune into what makes you laugh and enjoy the time. What a great way to give thanks!
- Decorate with nature in your house to enjoy the beauty of bringing the outside, inside.
- Make Amish Friendship bread and share the starter with your people!
- Take a minute to think on something bad that happened to you or maybe even something bad that you did. Focus on how you got out of it, what you did to improve, or how much you’ve changed since then. Be grateful for your resilience.
- Inspire others to be grateful by sharing a blessing or something that you’re beyond thankful for on media.
- Stop by your boss or favorite coworkers office and tell them why you enjoy working for or with them.
- Create a gratitude journal. Each day, list three things that you’re grateful for.
- Make a thank you note and give it to someone.
- Make a Fall leaves bouquet or grab some fall flowers and give them to someone you appreciate.
- Create a grateful atmosphere. Say thank you and please and show gratefulness to those around you.
- Pay it forward in the coffee line or at the food drive-thru.
- Tell someone thank you for something they did for you. Maybe they brought you a little gift or treat to cheer you up or maybe they helped you carry all your bags into a building. Either way, say thanks and be appreciative.
- Love on your pets a little more. Take your dog for an extra walk or spend more time cuddling your kitty. Be grateful and give thanks for your pet’s
unconditional love.
- Use something as your “grateful trigger.” Whether it’s a word (like every time you hear love) or you set an alarm. Every time, say something you’re grateful for or something that’s been a blessing to you.
- Volunteer your time or make some meals to hand out in the harder part of town. Food and a kind gesture will make someone’s day and make you happier, too.
