Don’t be fooled, and don’t be a fool. Self-proclaimed Socialists, Democratic Socialists, and by definition Communists are one and the same—some are just more honest in their self-identification. They all have one thing in common: looting every nation they touch.
Erich Honecker, the Communist head of East Germany, oversaw a regime in which the Soviet-controlled state accumulated vast wealth. Before the fall of the Berlin Wall, Honecker himself was reportedly among the richest men in the world, with an estimated net worth of $38 billion. These looters of societies and nations first identify their prey, then strip it of its wealth.
The seeds of these perversions predate Karl Marx by over two thousand years, having their collectivist roots in the teachings of Socrates, the writings of Plato, and his sickly-styled utopian “Republic.”
Since the time of the Russian Revolution, when the Bolsheviks took over Russia and expanded outward to create the Soviet Union, international communism has been on the march, destroying everything it touches—both human life and economic vitality. Yes, of course, after MAO murdered 80 million of his own people during his decades in power, China has emerged as a dominant economic force, perhaps even a global powerhouse. However, their success has only been achieved through the partial emulation and implementation of capitalist economic models. Never doubt that every morsel of private property in China is still ultimately owned by the state, despite appearances of free markets and ownership. In China, you can become a billionaire, but if you cross the Communist Party and its leadership, you can die in prison as a pauper.
The Left—both the witless followers of “Democratic Socialism” and those more honest in their identification as Communists—along with those pulling the strings, have one goal: to seize the means of production, create government control over every aspect of domestic life, and confiscate all wealth for those in power, whether that be an elite cabal of party members or whoever else they allow to split the loot.
Anyone, and I mean anyone, who believes Democratic Socialism, Communism, or any brand of collectivism is a good idea is historically and economically illiterate. As we will likely soon learn, the soon-to-be Mayor of New York, Zoran Mamdani—an “Islamo-Nazi Democratic Socialist”—will destroy the greatest citadel of art, culture, and capitalist innovation in world history.
I do have to hand it to the Communists, though: while they’re always playing a left-handed game of chess with their Leninist strategies and Saul Alinsky playbook, everyone else is playing checkers. Mamdami and his ilk are a cancer on society, and they will kill everything they touch. We will soon have front-row seats to watch the likely new Mayor of New York, an America-hating, Jew-hating, Western civilization-hating ideologue, wreak his ugly path of destruction.
