Country music icon Pat Green has raised more than $1 million through a star-studded online benefit concert to support victims of the devastating Texas floods. The heartfelt livestream event came after Green personally experienced tragic loss, revealing that his brother and his brother’s family were among the more than 130 lives lost in the disaster.
Benefit concert

The livestream benefit concert, held at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, brought together some of the biggest names in country music for a night of performances and charity. Though there was no in-person audience, the event was streamed live on YouTube, connecting fans across the country with a cause that hit close to home for many Texans. A news release said the event would “pass along the collective outpouring of love Green has received from so many.” The all-star lineup featured Miranda Lambert, Jon Pardi, Dierks Bentley, Corey Kent, Casey Donahew, Josh Abbott, Ryan Bingham, Eli Young Band, Joe Nichols, Kaitlin Butts, Kevin Fowler and Bob Schneider — a show of unity from the country music community.
All proceeds donated

All proceeds from the benefit concert were directed to Kerr County Relief, TEXSAR and the Do It For Durrett Foundation — three organizations directly involved in recovery and rebuilding efforts. Green emphasized transparency in where the donations were going in an interview with FOX 4. “We needed to take care of more than just ours. We need to help take care of all the others, too,” he said. “Playing music when the public is not around is a great opportunity for a rehearsal. We’re already a good band, but it’s fun to play anywhere.” Green also highlighted the strength and solidarity of his community. “Country music, especially Texas country people, we’re thick as thieves. We’re family to each other. All of these people I’ve known for most of my life. I look out for them as much as they look out for me.”
Pat Green loses family in floods

Shortly after the floods, Green shared a message on social media announcing the heartbreaking loss of his family. His wife, Kori Green, later confirmed on Instagram that John Green, the country star’s brother, along with John’s wife Julia and their two sons, had died in the flooding. “I lost my brother, my sister-in-law, John and Julia, and their two boys,” Green told FOX 4. “Thankfully, our niece has survived. And now it’s time we think about how we can rebuild the life around her.”
Texas floods aftermath

As the state continues to grapple with the aftermath of the catastrophic flooding, concerns have emerged over the local response and lack of emergency preparation. Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha and emergency management coordinator William B. Thomas admitted they were asleep during the early hours of the crisis. Meanwhile, Judge Rob Kelly, the county’s top official, was confirmed to be out of town during the disaster — leaving a leadership void as the situation escalated. Many residents and survivors reported receiving no warnings before the flooding struck, prompting urgent calls for outdoor weather sirens and stronger emergency infrastructure. “We need stronger communications and better broadband so we can communicate better,” said Judge Kelly. So far, the disaster has claimed the lives of at least 138 people, including 27 campers and counselors at the all-girls Camp Mystic, one of the hardest-hit sites during the floods.
